Read 10,000 books and travel 10,000 miles. Learn as much as you can and do all you can. Travel can teach people more than a textbook. I value the memories I have travelled all over the world. There are many reasons why I encourage people to travel, and I know that the experience will make one a better person.
I remember when I was traveling that I began to know the world better. The world is not just about me, my small town and home. Although you will meet different people from all over the world, you will realize that people are similar in their dreams, hopes and feelings. Enjoy exploring the different cultures, and you will also find that people are different in some of the things they do and how they live. Once you understand their ways, it need not be strange or scary. Often we read stories about other cultures in books. Only when we visit their areas, do we find that those stories are something wrong.
One thing you may find out is that there are problems all over the world. We can’t just get money to send to these areas and hope that will work them out. The world should get involved(干預(yù)) and help wherever there are problems. People everywhere should be given a chance. It is so easy to ignore this if one does not travel and explore. One can look around and see that so many people have many challenges worse than ours. One can realize that sometimes our biggest problems are not that big after all.
On your journey you will meet lots of new friends. Talking to strangers and finding about their lives is a great way to spend your time. You will certainly be more confident after having to solve problems and make many decisions along the way.
Traveling around and seeing so much happening in the world around us is a wonderful experience. If we could all just travel a little more and share our experiences, we would all be better people and the world would be a better place.
We all want to travel but our greatest limitations are from within. Seeing the world is not leisure but provides interesting elements that will help us grow and discover ourselves. More than that, it boosts our creativity and recharges our spirit to face life challenges. Thus, it is important to quit making these excuses and hit the road.

【題目】B
This afternoon, when I was looking for a self-improvement(自我修養(yǎng)) book, I found an aged folder(文件夾). In this folder, there were some of the examination papers I’d taken during my pre-university days. They were on economics(經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)), a subject that I didn’t really like much then.
I laughed at the silly mistakes I made as I looked through the papers. And memories of the past came to my mind. I saw myself sitting at one of the study tables, working hard for some of my life goals. Back then, it was popular for most students to set life goals, because they thought it was most important.
It was during those times that I first started to set goals for myself. I didn’t know much about goal setting then. I didn’t use any goal tracking(跟蹤) tools, either. All I knew was that I had to go to university. There was no other way that I could give myself. To go through my lecture(演講) notes, I didn’t take breaks. For more revision with my classmates, I stayed back late. One time, I missed the school lock-out hours and I had to climb school gates in order to leave. It was perhaps this attitude(態(tài)度) that ignited my decision to go through what I had to do to get this far.
Yes, it may have been hard. But the sweet taste of victory experienced at the point of receiving my final results was so wonderful that I would never forget it for the rest of my life.
I closed the folder and dropped it into the dustbin(垃圾箱) in the room. It’s time to get kicking with my next goal. And by writing this, I know I’m getting closer.
