An old cowboy was riding his trusty horse followed by his honesty dog along an uncommon road. The man was enjoying the new scenery(風景), when he suddenly remembered dying. He realized that the dog beside him had been dead for years and so had his horse. He wondered what was happening, and where the road was leading them.

After a while, they saw a tall arch topped by golden letter "H" and a gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl. The street that led to the gate looked like gold.

He rode toward the gate and saw a man at a desk. Thirsty and tired out by his journey, he called out," Excuse me, where are we?"

"This is Heaven, sir," the man answered.

"Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the cowboy asked.

"Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water for you."

"Can I bring my partners, too?"

"I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets."

The cowboy thought for a moment, then turned back to the road and continued riding, his dog running by his side.

After another long ride, he came to a dirt road leading through a gate that looked as if it had never been closed. As he went closer to the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book. “Excuse me,” he called to the man. "Do you have any water?"

"Sure, there's a pump right over there. Help yourself."

"How about my friends here?" the cowboy pointed at the dog and his horse.

"Of course! They look thirsty, too," said the man.

The three went through the gate and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with buckets(水桶)beside it. The cowboy took a long drink, as did his horse and dog. "What do you call this place?" the cowboy asked the man who was still standing by the tree.

"This is Heaven," he answered.

"That's strange," the cowboy said. "The man down the road said that was Heaven, too."

"Oh, you mean the place with the shinning, gold street and fake pearly gates? That's Hell." "Doesn't it make you angry when they use your name like that?"

"Not at all. Actually, we’re happy they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind."

根據(jù)文中he suddenly remembered dying. He realized that the dog beside him had been dead for years and so had his horse可知,他意識到他以及隨行的狗和馬都已經(jīng)死了。

Can I bring my partners, tooI’m sorry, sir, but we don’t accept pet可知,牛仔遇到的第一個人不允許他帶著狗和馬一起喝水,所以他繼續(xù)前行是不想拋棄隨行的同伴。

根據(jù)文中句子there was an old-fashioned hand pump with buckets(水桶)beside it中的an old-fashioned hand(一個老式的手動的),以及下文的“Help yourself.”

Doesn’t it make you angry when they use your name like thatNot at all Actually, we’re happy they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind可知,天堂里的人并不生氣,相反,正是地獄的謊言才能篩選出對朋友不離不棄的人進入天堂。所以A選項是正確的,B選項是錯誤的;根據(jù)文中“Sure , there’s a pump right over there. Help yourself.” “How about my friends here?” the cowboy pointed at the dog and his horse. “Of course! They look thirsty, too,” said the man.

Not at all. Actually, we’re happy they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind.
