3．You must need desks in your life，but how do you know whether you have the right desk？Well，the right desk should be the right size．You should think about the size in terms of how much room you get on the desk．If you need to deal with a lot of paperwork，you are supposed to buy a large desk．If you are short of space，you should be looking for a small desk．The best way，if you are short of space，is to measure （測量） the area where the desk will sit and go with them to the store； they are usually quite happy to help you get the size right．
Also，the right desk should have drawers （抽屜）．Drawers allow you to keep a tidy desk．If you do not have filing cabinets （文件柜），choose a desk with many drawers-you will probably need them．If you have filing cabinets，one or two drawers should be enough to hold the basics such as keys and snacks．
If you are quite short or very tall，there are office furniture shops that have tables with legs that can be adjusted （調節(jié)）．With the simple turn of a screw （螺絲），you can make them become taller or shorter．
Look at the material that the desk is made of．The last thing you want is to shop for a desk again in a few years．The best desks are made of hardwood，because they can last for years and years．However，there will be a problem if you are having only a few money-they cost quite a bit of money．There are hardboard desks that are quite good-they do not last as long as hardwood desks but you will get value for your money．You may find desks made of glass，but you must be very sure that they are of high quality before you buy them．
