He takes the wheelbarrow (獨輪車)to a pile of rocks, fills it up, and brings it back again to where he was working. He tips the rocks out and begins to hit them with his hammer (錘子).It is hard work. {Richard Hannay walks along the road toward him) Hannay: Good morning! Specky:  What's good about it? Hannay: One of those days, is it?

Specky:  Yeah. You would complain too, if you had my job. Hannay: Hard work, is it?

Specky:  I'm not afraid of hard work. It's staying in one place that I don't like. I used to be a shepherd (牧羊人)， you know. That was better because I could walk all over the hills and go where I was pleased. Now I'm stuck here! It's no fun!
