ALang Lang

Lang Lang is one of the world's best-known Chinese pianists today. He was bom in 1982 in Shenyang. He showed his talent of the piano and his father found it when he was two. He began to take piano lessons at the age of three. At the age of five,he won the Shenyang Piano Competition. When he was eleven,he won the first prize at the Fourth International Pianists Competition.

He began his study at Curtis Institute (學(xué)院) in the USA when he was fifteen. He became the first Chinese student at the institute. During his study there he made great progress (進(jìn)步) and became a top pianist. On August 14 ,1999,he took Andre Watts' place to play the piano at a concert beoanse

Andre suddenly fell sick. His fantastic performance at the concert was a great success. He became famous overnight.

In August 2008,more than five billion people watched Lang Lang’sperformance at the opening ceremony (開(kāi)幕式) of the Beijing Olympic Games where he was a symbol of the youth and future of China.
