      A 5. 7-magnitude earthquake happened on the border (邊界) of Yunnan and Sichuan provinces at 3:59 p.m. on June 24 ,2012.Two minutes later,a 3. 3-magnitude aftershock was followed. A spokesman of the Yanyuan county government said ,“ the earthquake was not strong in the county areas,but many houses in the countryside collapsed (倒塌) ..The epicenter (震中) was in the border areas between Ninglang and Yanyuan."

     In the 5. 7-magnitude earthquake at least two people died and 100 people were injured. The injured people appeared mainly in the county of Ninglang in Yunnan Province and the neighboring Yanyuan county in Sichuan Province. And the earthquake in Ninglang was strongly felt.

      Now local governments have sent 300 tents,500 quilts and 500 cottonpadded clothes to the county. Telecommunications networks (電 網(wǎng)絡(luò)) were cut by the quake.The Yunnan government has sent a working team to the area to repair the networks. And the rescue teams (救援隊) are trying to carry on the helping work according to the weather conditions.
