　　We write letters to our pen-friends，but maybe we have never met them．Many of us have pen-friends in different parts of our motherland or even in different countries．We receive letters from them and write back and sometimes we go to see them．

　　But most of the time we don’t meet our pen-friends，because we live very far from them．They write to us to learn about our country，city，school，the way of life and so on．Of course so do we．And today we begin to keep in touch with our pen-friends by e-mail instead of writing letters．Maybe someday we will call them “e-mail friends”．

Passage B

　　It was about eleven o’clock in the morning．I was on my way to the office, and I was walking on Chang Jiang Street．Suddenly I saw a small red car coming very fast．When the red light was on，the driver wanted to stop but she could not．The car hit the wall of a building，and she was badly hurt．I quickly took out my cell phone and called the police．A police car came soon．A policeman　helped the driver out of the car，and took her to hospital．Another policeman went up to me and asked me about the accident．I hoped the driver would be better soon and be more careful when driving in the future．
