The last Harry Potter movie will be on show in November. But “Hermione Granger” has already moved on from Hogwarts.

Months ago, when the filming (拍攝) of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” was ending, Emma Watson said she felt like “a friend is dying”. The British actress has played Hermione Granger in all Harry Potter movies since 2001. She said she needed to “take a break” and “get herself back together” after the filming.

This August, the 20-year-old surprised everyone. She cut her hair super short! Emma wrote on her Twitter page: “Dear all. Cut my hair off a few days ago. I love it. I’ve wanted to do this for years and years. It’s the most liberating (自由舒暢的) thing ever.”

Emma has kept her long hair for 10 years for the role of Hermione. But she doesn’t regret (遺憾) losing it. “I missed all the experiences that most teenagers go through. I’ve wanted to do this since I was about 16. So as soon as I had the chance I just did it,” she said.

The actress now has her first “grown-up” role (角色) in a film called My Week With Marilyn. Although (盡管) she only plays a small role, Emma will get a chance to work with many Oscar winning actors. But before the shooting starts, the actress will be playing another role in real life-that of a college student. Last month, she went back to Brown University in the US. She is now a second year student.

When I first arrived on this island, I had nothing. But I’ve found the ship and made a small boat. I’ve brought back many things I can use—food and drink, tools, knives and guns. Although I have lost everything, I have not lost my life. So I will not give up and I will wait for another ship. I have already cut down trees and built a house. I go out with my gun almost every day to kill animals and birds for food. I’m even learning to grow fruit and vegetables.

A few weeks ago, I found the marks of another man’s feet on the sand. Who else is on my island? Not long after that, I saw some cannibals trying to kill two men from a broken ship. One of them died but the other ran towards my house. I helped him kill the cannibals. This man now lives with me and helps me. I named him Friday because that day was the day I met him. He is smart and I have already taught him some English.

Each year, we welcome many holidays here in America.

On January 1, we welcome the coming of a new year like many people in other countries. And we have another four holidays on the first day of a month: April Fool’s Day, May Day, Friendship Day (Aug.1) and Grandparents Day (Sept.1).

The most important holiday for the young people comes in February. It is Valentine’s Day. Lots of boys give red roses to girls as a present.

People celebrate some holidays for their family members. We say thanks to our mother in May and celebrate Father’s Day in the following month. In November many people come back home for Thanksgiving Day, so all the family can stay together.

There are also some interesting holidays for children. For example, Halloween comes at the

end of October. Children often play with pumpkin lanterns and wear all kinds of masks. On April Fool’s Day, they can play jokes on each other.

Of course, the most important festival is Christmas. After a year of work and study, people can enjoy a long holiday, eat big meals, and visit family and friends.
