Since last year, Where Are We Going, Dad? has been one of the most popular TV shows. It is produced by Hunan TV. The show invites five stars from different fields and their children. The show follows the adventures of the five dads together with their young children (aged 4 to 10) and try to finish a set of tasks. Along the way we see the kids and their dads having fun, but we also see tearful moments and uncomfortable moments as the dads try to get on with their children. The show provides an interesting view on modern family life.

Why is Where Are We Going, Dad? so popular? Because it is about how Chinese parents look after their kids. “The show makes modern parents think about what they should do with their kids. In traditional Chinese culture, the father is strict and the mother is kind. But on the show, we see fathers who are much more gentle on their kids and they can listen to their children carefully. Fathers also teach their children skills and encourage them to try new things. They also give them a sense of safety.”said Li Minyi, a professor of early childhood education.

In the past, children were taught to obey their parents’ wishes and look after them in their old age. But today Chinese parents increasingly realize that respecting(尊重) their children’s choices may be a better way to get them ready for modern society. As they raise their children, parents are growing up at the same time.

People use money to buy food, books and lots of other things they need. When they work, they usually get paid in money.

The Chinese were the first to use paper money. The first paper money looked more like a note from one person to another then the paper money is used today. Money has had an interesting story from the days of shell money till today.
