【題目】 By now, most people know they should be eating more vegetables, but are there ways to get more from the vegetables you already eat? A research shows that when it comes to vegetables, it’s not only how much we eat, but also how we prepare them, that decides the vitamins(維生素) and other nutrients(營養(yǎng)物) that enter our body.
Many studies show that people who eat lots of vegetables have less heart disease, and eye problems and even cancer. But raw(生的) vegetables are not always best. The researchers found that 198 Germans who eat raw food were short of lycopene(番茄紅素), the matter found in tomatoes and other red vegetables. “There is an idea that raw foods are always going to be better,” says Steven K. Clinton, a professor at Ohio State University. “For fruits and vegetables, sometimes a little bit of cooking can be helpful.”
A number decide how the vegetables do good to people’s health before they reach the table, including where and how they were grown and stored before being bought. No single cooking way is best. Some nutrients are easily lost in cooking if they are cooked in different ways.
Vitamins C and B are often lost. In January, another report said that boiling was better for carrots than frying(油炸) or serving them raw. Frying was the worst way to cook.
What cooked with the vegetables can also be important? When the vegetables are cooked with fat, the diners can get more nutrients. Fat can also make the taste of vegetables better, meaning that people will eat more of them. Putting some other things will make it taste better — a little salt — can make the food taste better.

【題目】New ways to pay: third party online payment
Do you shop online with websites like Taobao? When you make an order on Taobao, the money you pay doesn’t go directly to the seller. Instead, it goes to Alipay first, which keeps your money for a while. After you receive your goods and click the “confirm receipt” button, Alipay then gives the money to the seller.
This process is called “third party online payment.” There is a transfer station, or a third account(中轉(zhuǎn)站或第三方賬戶), between sellers and buyers to make online shopping safe. Buyers don’t need to worry about paying for goods and then receiving nothing. Sellers also avoid risking receiving no money after sending out goods.
These transfer stations are usually set up by payment companies such as Alipay, Tenpay and Yeepay. Among them, Aliay is the biggest in China. It has more than 270 million active users according to Xinhua.
While most online sellers and shoppers like the third party online payment system, banks are not very happy. That is because companies like Alipay are fighting over money with the banks. Users can invest in financial products (投資金融產(chǎn)品) through Alipay and make money. Thus lots of people choose to put money in Alipay rather than in banks.
But WeChat payment is not the same. WeChat doesn’t have its own account. When paying through WeChat, buyers’ money goes directly to the sellers. That’s why so many people are excited about sending and receiving “red packets”, or gift money to their friends on WeChat.
Both Alipay and WeChat payments are trying to draw more users and make online shopping easier. New payment methods such as quick response codes (二維碼) have become popular too. Two companies are also developing and improving payments through fingerprints.
