World Sleep Day,organized by the Would Sleep Day Committee of the Would Association of Sleep Medicine since 2008,is held on March 21 every year.
The aim of World Sleep Day is to celebrate the benefits of good and healthy sleep. Events involving discussions, presentations of educational materials and exhibitions take place around the world and online.
Sleep quality plays a key role in people’s health. Researchers say that there are a lot of advantages if we always get enough sleep. We can be smarter, thinner, healthier and more cheerful. Also we’re to have better skin, better memories and longer lives. When you lose even one hour of sleep for any reason,it will influence your performance the next day.
In general, adults are thought to need at least eight hours of sleep a night, but a recent survey found that,on workdays, only 21% of them really get a full eight hours of sleep, and another 21% get less than six. For teenagers,a healthy amount is about eight to nine hours per night. However, about 80% of high school students don’t get enough sleep because of their schoolwork or some bad habits.
27% of people throughout the world have sleep problems. Now there are over 80 kinds of sleep disorders, and most people know little about their danger. So,for our good life and work,it’s necessary for us to realize the importance of sleep and try to have a good sleep.

Giving someone good news is easy, but what about bad news? Are there any good ways to give bad news without making people too upset? The following steps might help:
Say something positive. Try to start or end the conversation with some good news, so that it’s not all bad. For example, “ You did very well in the interview, but unfortunately we’ve given the job to somebody else.”
Prepare your listener for the news. Use phrases to introduce what you’re going to say, like “Unfortunately, …”, “ I’m really sorry , but…” or “ I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news.” This gives the listener time to prepare for what you’re going to say.
Try to give a reason. People like know why things go wrong. Try to explain the decision. If someone doesn’t get the job, can you explain why? If you have to cancel an appointment, try to give a reason.

There are several ways you can find out about the countries and places you wish to visit. You can talk to friends who have traveled to the places, you can go and see a colour film about them, or you can read a travel book.
It seems that there are three kinds of travel books. The first are those that give a personal, subjective(主觀的) idea of travels which their writer has got himself. These books can be useful if the writers share their traveling experiences with others. The second kind are those books which give objective(客觀的) information of things to be done and seen. If a cultured personhas written such a book about the facts of a place, then it is more useful. The third kind are those books which are called “a guide” to some place or other. If they are good, they will describe and explain the place in detail. Like the first kind , they can be interesting and exciting, but their main purpose is to help the reader plan his travel in the most practical way.
Whatever kind of travel book you choose, you must make sure that the book does not describe everything as interesting, exciting or fantastic. You must also keep an open eyes on its date of publication(出版) because travel is very practical matter and many things change quickly in the 21st century. Finally, you should make sure that it’s easy to find the useful information for your travel.

Computer games are very popular. It is natural for people to want to win, so playing against a computer or against a friend on the computer can be difficult to stop. “ Just one more game” often turns into another game, then another.
Computer games do have their advantages. They are excellent for training hand-eye coordination(協(xié)調(diào)).Surgeons(外科醫(yī)生)who play computer games as children are often more skilled. Computer games can also be great for teaching students. The students are open to learning while playing. They can study for longer than a teacher would be able to teach. Students can also learn at their own speed and not feel pressure to match classmates. And with computers you can practise a task as many times as you like. The more you do this, the better you will get, until you can do it perfectly.
But like anything else in life, things should be balanced. Too much time on the computer can hurt your eyes. Regular breaks are needed. If students cannot stop playing computer games, they won’t do as well in other areas in their life---not just school work, but in developing important social skills such as how to talk with people and how to work with others as part of a team. And if they are no longer taking regular exercise, their health will become worse.
