The great outdoors! Clean air and beautiful view are just what you need to enjoy yourself. What’s the best way to enjoy it? By camping of course!

First of all, where will you camp? There are camping grounds all over China. The choice is yours!

You will need a tent. Most tents are light and easy to put up. They come with a groundsheet. It stops water getting in, as well as a fly screen, so that bugs(蟲子)don’t fly into your tent at night.

Take a sleeping bag and sleeping mat(墊子). Check the weather! Are you going somewhere cold or hot? You can buy sleeping bags of different thickness.

Make sure you bring the right clothes. If you want to go hiking, you will need a pair of walking boots, light trousers, and a waterproof(防水的)coat. A map and compass(指南針)are helpful too.

Cooking outside is fun. Put your stove far away from the tent, or you might cause a fire. Plastic cups and plates are lighter to carry. Make sure you bring enough clean water. Taking water from lakes is dangerous as there might be pollution.

If you are going to a faraway area, bring an “emergency survival aid”(急救箱). Make sure you tell someone where you are going.

A teen might join in a volunteer project because his or her friends are doing it, or get good grades because his or her friends think getting good grades is important. In fact, friends often encourage each other to study, or try out for sports.

While we are always influenced by those around us, the decision to act or not is up to us. So when it comes to decision making, the choice is up to you.
