I want to have__________________________________________________________________
【答案】I want to have a magic paintbrush
I want to have a magic paintbrush, with which I can draw whatever I want to.
With the magic paintbrush, I can paint a brand-new earth, where there are a huge variety of animals on green lands without pollution, including rare ones like dinosaurs, and a wide range of fish in the clean oceans without plastic rubbish, who all get along very well with human beings. With the amazing paintbrush, I can draw our dream schools, where all students have no heavy homework, but do what they are interested in, and where teachers and students like each other.
As long as each of us does our best, the magic paintbrush must be available in the near future!

【題目】My summer hols wr CWOT: B4, WE USED 2go 2 NY 2C my bro, his GF thr 3: @ KIDS FTF. ILNY, its gr8.
Can you understand this sentence? If you can’t, don’t feel too bad: neither could the middle school teacher in England who received this as homework. This is Netspeak: the language of computerized communication found on Internet or cellphones. To newcomers, it can look like a completely foreign language. So, what is the "translation of the sentence above? My summer holidays were a complete waste of time. Before, we used to go to New York to see my brother his girlfriend, and their three screaming kids face to face. I love New York, it’s great.
School teachers and parents say this new form of writing is harming the English language. Increasing spelling and grammatical mistakes can be seen in students' writing. They fear the language could become corrupted(面目全非的).
Everyone should just relax, say linguists(語言學(xué)家).They believe Netspeak is in fact more of a good thing. David Crystal, from the University of Wales, argues that Netspeak and Internet create a new language use and the almost lost art of diary writing has been picked up again. Geoffrey Nunberg, from Stanford University, agrees. " People get better at writing by writing, " he says. "Kids who are now doing text messaging, e-mail, and instant messages will write at least as well as, and possibly better than, their parents.”
Linguist James Milroy says, for centuries, it is believed without exception that young people are harming the language. And you can bet your bottom dollar that when today’s teenagers become tomorrows parents, they too will think this way. Milroy argues that languages do not and cannot become "corrupted", they simply change to meet the new needs
However, Netspeakers do agree that it is important to teach young people how to speak and write Standard(/E)English. Cynthia Me Vey says, I can understand Netspeak worries teachers and it's important that they get across to their pupils that text messaging is for fun, but that learning to write proper English is a must for their future.”
Perhaps, we should give teenagers a little more trust anyway. Erin, age 12, says, " I wouldn’t use text language in my homework. Text is just for fun.”
【1】What is the main purpose of the first paragraph?
A. To give an example of a foreign language.
B. To show an example of creative method
C. To express worries about using Netspeak.
D. To start the topic of Netspeak through an example.
【2】Which of the following is true according to the passage?
A. Cynthia McVey points out teenagers can deal with Netspeak properly
B. Geoffrey Nunberg believes Netspeakers can write Standard English
C. David Crystal thinks Netspeak helps develop the habit of writing
D. James Milroy says that language is changing and improving
【3】The expression "bet your bottom dollar" in paragraph means__________.
A. be quite sureB. be greatly surprisedC. think it a pityD. find it interesting
【4】What can be the best title for the passage?
A. Netspeak: A Widely-used Language on Internet
B. Netspeak Harming the English Language?
C. Is Netspeak Helpful in Language Learning?
D. Netspeak: Advantages and Disadvantages

【題目】 One early morning, I went into the living room to find my mother reading a thick book called Best Loved Poems to Read Again and Again. My interest was aroused only by the fact that the word “Poems” appeared in big, hot pink letters.
“Is it good?” I asked her.
“Yeah,” she answered. I leaned forward.
“Patty Poem,’” she read the title. Who is Patty? I wondered. The poem began:
She never puts her toys away,
Just leaves them scattered where they lay …
The poem was just three short sections. The final one came quickly:
When she grows and gathers poise,
I’ll miss her harum-scarum noise,
And look in vain for scattered toys
And I’ll be sad
A terrible sorrow (痛苦) washed over me. Whoever Patty was, she was a mean girl. Then, the shock. “It’s you, honey,” My mother said sadly.
To my mother, the poem revealed a parent’s feeling when her child grows up and leaves. To me, the “she” in the poem was horror. It was my mama who would be sad. It was so terrible I burst (突然) out crying.
“What’s wrong?” my mother asked.
“Oh, Mama,” I cried. “I don’t want to grow up ever!”
She smiled. “Honey, it’s okay. You’re not growing up anytime soon. And when you do, I’ll still love you, okay?”
“Okay,” I was still weeping (流淚). My scare has gone. But I could not help thinking about that silly poem. After what seemed like a safe amount of time, I read the poem again and was confused. It all fit so well together, like a puzzle. The language was simple, so simple I could obviously understand its meaning, yet it was still beautiful. I was now fascinated (著迷) by the idea of poetry, words that had the power to make or break a person’s world.
I have since fallen in love with other poems, but “Patty Poem” remains my poem. After all, “Patty Poem” gave me my love for poetry not because it was the poem that lifted my spirits, but because it was the one that hurt me the most.
【1】Why was the writer attracted by the book Best Loved Poems to Read Again and Again?
A. It was a thick enough book.B. Something on its cover caught her eye.
C. Her mother was reading it with interest.D. It has a meaningful title.
【2】The writer’s mother liked to read “Patty Poem” because______.
A. it reflected her own childhoodB. it was written in simple language
C. it was composed by a famous poetD. it gave her an idea of what would happen
【3】It can be concluded from the passage that “Patty Poem” leads the writer to _______.
A. discover the power of poetryB. recognize her love for puzzles
C. find her eagerness to grow upD. experience great homesickness

Only their sister should be busy pollinating (傳授花粉) and producing honey. However, for this drone, pollination is the very reason fur its existence (存在).
The drone, in fact is an invention of Ejiro Miyako. Miyako is a scientist from Japan. Many people, including Miyako have been worried about the future of food industry. At the moment, Miyako’s robot bee still needs help from human operators. That’s because it can’t see where its target (目標(biāo)) are. In the next step, Miyako will install visual recognition (視覺識(shí)別) software on his bee. After that, the robot bee will be able to see by itself.
