    In your school,can you choose the subject you like to learn? And if you can t,can you choose not to learn? Of course the answer is here in China. But let’s see what is like in America. Now students in high school in Florida will be able to choose their interests of study. They also have some students,who are not good at some subjects and don't plan to go to college. So they can get some suggestions. And these can suggest the students their interests of study or their jobs they would like to do when they grow up. At school they may choose a subject like biology,math or a foreign language or it could be a skill such as car or computer repair.

    Some people agree to do this because it can make students think about what they want to do and help them get ready for their future. They say that choosing students’own interest will make high school more interesting to many students. But other people disagree because they say this could make it difficult for students to discover different possibilities (可能性) . And they say fourteen-year-old students are too young to know what they want to do in their life.

    So what is your idea of your high school? Would you like to decide what you are going to learn? We have already found out many good ways to make our education reform (改革) more effective (有效的) ’but still we have to think about more of the learners. What are their interests of study?
