Sometimes people come into your life and you know at once that they were sure to be there. They serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help find out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be: your classmate, neighbor, teacher, long-lost friend or even a real stranger. But you know that every moment they will affect (影響) your life in some serious way.
Sometimes things happen to you. At the time they may seem terrible, painful (痛苦的) and unfair. But later you realize that without getting over those difficulties you would have never realized your further ability and strength. Everything happens for a reason and nothing happens by chance or with good or bad luck.
The people you meet affect your life, and the successes and failure (失敗) you experience, create who you are. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.
Enjoy every day even every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people you have never talked to before, and really listen. You should set your sights high, hold your head up, tell yourself you are a great one and believe in yourself.
You can make your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it.

We use alarm clocks every day in order to make sure we wake up on time. Alarm clocks used to be a simple product that shows the time and rings when set. Here we put together a list of cool alarm clocks which not only wake you up but also make you work for them.

Here is an alarm clock that requires some effort to turn it off. You must throw the hand grenade alarm clock away like a true grenade in order to stop the madness. This could truly be what people want when waking up tired. The only problem is…it won’t get you out of bed.

You want something that will make sure to get you out of bed? A carpet alarm clock will do. It will continue to ring until you step on it with your own two feet. Well, if you have kids, you could always scream at them to come into your bedroom and step on it for you…but that would seem a little more difficult.

This must be the best and cruelest way to get exercise…to battle with your alarm clock. It is a great and cool alarm clock that requires you to pick up the dumbbells in order to turn the ringing off and get back to sleep.

You may be a person that could easily get out of bed if you had the right kind of sounds, music or words. And this is what this MP3 alarm clock hopes to do by allowing you to set the rings with your favorite sounds. For some people it may be birds’ sweet sounds.

44.What is the new function(功能) of the alarm clocks?

A. They can tell us time. B. They can ring loudly when set.

C. They can make us work for them. D. They wake us up on time.

45. If you are a music lover, which is the best choice according to the passage?

A.A hand grenade alarm clock. B. A carpet alarm clock.

C.A dumbbells alarm clock. D. An MP3 alarm clock.

46. What does the underlined sentence “but that would seem a little more difficult” mean?

A. Kids can wake up more easily than their parents.

B. It’s easy to ask kids to do something for you.

C. Kids hate to step on the carpet alarm clock.

D. It may be more difficult to wake kids up.
