When he was a teenager, Hunter Adam was very unhappy and he spent many years in a special hospital for people with mental health problems.

When he left the hospital, Adam decided to become a doctor, so he went to a medical school in Virginia, USA. But when he was there, he did things in a different way. For example, he didn’t like the doctor’s white coats, so he wore shirts with flowers on them when he visited his patients and he tried to make them laugh. The doctors at the medical school didn’t like Adams because he was too different.

But Adams believed that people in hospital need more than medicine. He saw unhappy and lonely people, and he tried to help them as patients, but as people too. He spent a lot of time with children in the hospital and often dressed up like a clown to make the children laugh

When he finished medical school and become a doctor, Adams opened his own hospital, called “the Gusundheit Institute”,together with some other doctors. They wanted it to be a place with a different way of working with sick people.

Hunter Adams became famous during the 1980s, and in 1988, Universal Pictures made a film about his life. It was very successful. In the film, Robin Williams played Adams. Now there is a family problem.Nearly every parent says that we never grow up.In fact,we are probably 16 or 17 years old.In their eyes,we are always little ones and often do wrong things. For example, when I need to stay at home alone, they always worry about me and my life without them.

Most parents always think that they have offered the best things they can to make their children live in a comfortable world. They buy their children pretty clothes, cool shoes, expensive school things, and often a thousand-yuan-cost bike. They think that they have done everything that they can for their dear children. In return, they only want their children to get good results in the exams.

But why still can't their children understand them? Does it mean that we still want more material things? No.As a matter of fact, what we want is a true family. What does a true family mean? I think it means a place where we can hide ourselves from the cold world outside. From the place,we can get warmth,we can get consolation(安慰),and we can get happiness. And one important thing is that we should be stronger and more confident in the outside world because we know that we have a true family.

So I think that parents should sit down to talk with their children to let them know that they have a true family,so the children and their parents could understand each other. Then, parents will not treat their children as little ones.

根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,完成下列句子,每空詞數(shù)不限。

1.In the eyes of most parents, children never ___ __and seldom do__ ___.

3.Children still____ ____their parents because what children need most is not material things but __ __ __.

4.Most parents want their children to get ___ __in the exams while their children want to get ____ ___ _____ ______from a true family.

5.The way to__ ___ __between parents and children is that they should have more communication with each other. Then,no children will ___ __as little ones.
