Since May 12, a computer virus named WannaCry has infected (感染) more than 300,000computers in over 150 countries, according to Reuters.

Wannacry is spread by using a weakness in Microsoft's Windows operating system. Once the virus gets into the computer, it locks all the papers and asks the user for money to unlock them. At first, it asks for $300, but if the user doesn't send the money in 72 hours, the price doubled. Papers are locked forever if the user doesn't pay in seven days.

The virus has brought bad results. For example, in the UK, the virus left the country’sNational Health Service in a mess. Some hospitals had to cancel patient appointments(預(yù)約), reported The Telegraph. In China, the virus has hit thousands of computers, according to Qihoo360. One of the most hard-hit groups in China were university users. Many students' graduation papers were locked. They felt nervous and frightened. Also many gas stations were seriously hit, and the payment system didn’t work.

WanaCry is the latest example of the cyber security(網(wǎng)絡(luò)安全) problem. Matthew Hickey, who set up the security company Hacker House, said, "The attack is not surprising. It shows that many organizations do not use updates(更新) fast enough. According to a survey, nearly half of the people said, “We are not satisfied with the way software updates work.”

As China Daily wrote, “We can’t completely protect our computers against these kinds of viruses, as this cat and mouse game will continue forever. The best choice for most users is to take care online and always install(安裝)software updates.”

1.What is WannaCry?

A.A video game. B.A computer software. C.A computer virus. D.A TV programme.

2.If your papers are locked by Wannacry, how much do you need to pay if you don’t send the money in 72 hours?

A.$150. B.$300. C.$600. D.$900.

3.According to the passage, the writer shows the bad results by ________.

A.giving reasons B.giving examples C.comparing computers D.comparing numbers

4.From the last two paragraphs, we can know that________.

People often say that the Englishman's home is his castle. They mean that the home is very important and personal to him. Most people in Britain live in houses rather than flats, and many people own their homes. This means that they can make them individual (個(gè)體的); they can paint them, and change them in any way they like. Most house have a garden, even if it is a very small one, and the garden is usually loved. The house and the garden are the private space of the individual.

People usually like to mark their space. Are you sitting now in your home or on a train? Have you marked the space around yourself as your? If you are on the train you may put your coat or small bag on the seat beside you. If you share a flat you may have one corner or chair which is your own.

Once I was travelling on a train to London. I was in a section for four people and there was a table between us.The man on the space on my side of the table at all. I was angry. Maybe he thought that he owned the whole table. I had read a book about non-verbal communication, so I took various papers out of my bag and put them on his briefcase! When I did this he stiffened and his eyes nearly popped (瞪出)out of his head. I had invaded (侵犯) his space! A few minutes later I took my papers off his case in order to read them. The novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP, 新型冠狀病毒肺炎) outbreak in China was caused by a new coronavirus that we have never seen before. It was first found in the Huanan Seafood Market in Wuhan, where a variety of wild animals were on sale. People who sold and bought animals illegally were the first to be infected.

Scientists have found that the virus likely came from bats and was then spread to humans from pangolins (穿山甲). According to Live Science, bats can carry and spread more than 60 viruses that can infect humans. They include the world’s deadliest viruses, such as Ebola and SARS. But bats have special immune systems that allow them to live with viruses without getting sick. Other wild animals like snakes and hedgehogs (刺猬) are also hosts of many viruses.

There have been calls for people to stop eating wild animals. However, the danger is not just in eating them, but also in touching them. People can get infected if they come into contact with the body fluids (體液) of wild animals. People who hunt, kill, sell or eat these animals run the risk of becoming infected.

Keeping wild animals as pets or selling parts of their bodies as animal products also create risks for humans. It is highly possible to come into contact with the body fluids of wild animals in this way.

“Trade and consumption of wild animals of all kinds should be banned,” Zeng Guang, chief epidemiologist (流行病學(xué)家) at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, told China Daily. “Otherwise people will suffer.”

1.According to scientists, humans might get infected with COVID-19 from________.

A.Pangolins  B.snakes C.hedgehogs D. bamboo rats

2.According to the story, what lesson should humans learn?

A.Research more about wild animals. B.Exercise regularly to stay healthy.

C.Stop keeping animals as pets. D.Don’t buy or eat wild animals.
