On Oct 1, or National Day, the People ’s Republic of China (PRC) celebrates its birthday. The PRC is turning 70 this year. Yu Guangzhong is a popular poet. He was well-known for his nostalgia he describes in his poems.

On Dec. 14. 2017, the famous Chinese poet Yu Guangzhong lost his life at the age of 89 in Taiwan. Yu was born in 1928 in Nanjing, Jiangsu. He and his family moved to Taiwan in the1950s. He lived and worked there until his death.
