One day, you open the fridge and find some moldy(發(fā)霉的)food. But before you can throw it away, your mother stops you. She doesn't want to waste food. She cuts off the moldy part and eats the rest. Is it safe to do this?

Mold(霉菌)can grow on almost all kinds of food. Mold is usually green, white, black or grey. Mold makes food soft and changes its color. Moldy food tastes quite bad and it's not safe to eat.

If you find mold in soft food, just throw it away. Soft food, such as bread, tomatoes or hot dogs, usually contains(包含)water. This allows mold to easily grow below its surface. Bacteria(細菌)can also grow along with it.

But it's easy to remove mold from hard food. The mold can't grow very deeply inside this kind of food. According to the BBC, you should cut about 2.5 cm around and below the mold to remove it. It's OK to cut the moldy parts out of hard food and eat the rest. But if the food is completely covered with mold, you should still throw it away.

Most kinds of mold are bad for us. But some kinds of mold can be used to make food. For example, penicillium(青霉菌)can be used to make many types of cheeses, such as blue cheese. These cheeses are safe to eat and they're quite delicious as well.

“Chinese style road crossing” means a large numbers of Chinese people crossing roads, no matter whether the traffic light is green or red. Maybe you really don’t want to cross the rod like that in your heart but you still do that for some reasons.

The phenomenon (現象) of people running the red light is often seen in some cities. It has appeared because people share the common reason that the law can’t be enforced(實施) when they run the red lights. In the fast-paced life, some people lack of safety awareness and can’t wait for the green light. Therefore, some basic rules have been thrown aside.

Today the design of traffic lights in big cities is friendlier to cars. For example, green light for cars is usually longer than for walkers. As roads become wider, many adults and kids can’t cross them even though they run all the way. If they don't run the red light when crossing the road, they will be stuck in the middle.

Since the second half of 2012, all kinds of ways have been made to punish those who run the red traffic lights. Shenzhen in Guangdong Province issued a traffic rule in December 2012, that a walker who run the red light will either be fined 20 yuan or a traffic assistant to help give order by wearing a green vest. In Beijing, starting from May 6, 2013, a jaywalker will face a fine of 10 yuan.

In my opinion, we should find out the reasons for running the red light completely, instead of blindly punishing them. We should strengthen education of obeying traffic rules. Encourage drivers to learn the driving awareness in developed countries, put the traffic lights in a scientific way and take necessary management measures. In this case, the traffic order in China will be greatly improved.

A.the meaning of "Chinese style road crossing"

B.the writer's idea of "Chinese style road crossing"

C.why "Chinese style road crossing" happens

D.punishment on "Chinese style road crossing"

4.The underlined word "fine" in the fourth paragraph means in Chinese.

A.晴朗的 B.好的 C.身體健康的 D.罰款

5.Which is not TRUE according to the writer's opinion?

A.We should find out the reasons for running the red light completely.
