33-year-old spacewoman Wang Yaping made history — she is China's first teacher in space.

Wang Yaping taught Chinese primary and middle school students on physics problems in the zero-gravity environment (失重環(huán)境) .She prepared for the lecture for a long time.

Wang, born in January 1980,is from East China's Shandong Province. She was a pilot in the People's Liberation Army Air Force (空軍) with experience of 1600 hours of flying.

“Wang's lecture was a pleasant surprise”’ said Zhang Xiaoguang,an astronaut (宇航員) in the three members of Shenzhou-10 spacecraft.“ (她很優(yōu)秀). Sometimes we’d like to give her a helping hand, but she just would not take the hand in help,” said Nie Haisheng.

Like many young Chinese people,Wang likes photography, music and basketball. She said, “We are all students in facing the universe (宇宙). We are looking forward to joining our young friends to learn and explore the mystical (神秘的) and beautiful universe.”

                                         B

What's going to happen in the future? Will robots control our planet? Will computers become smarter than us? Not likely. But here are some things that scientists say are most likely to happen in 10 to 30 years from now, according to the BBC.

       Digital money

We used to pay with cash (現(xiàn)金) for everything we bought. Now when we use a credit card (信用卡) to shop online, money is spent without us seeing it. That means we are already using digital money. Using a card is much easier than searching our pockets for change. It is also safer than carrying a lot of cash.

When ATM cards were first introduced, they were not accepted everywhere. But now it’s  hard to live without them. It's reported that people in Sweden completely stopped using cash last year, and the US might be next.

       Bionic (仿生的) eye

It's no longer something only in a science fiction movie. People who are blind may have a chance to get their sight back—by wearing bionic eyes.

A blind eye can no longer sense light, but a bionic eye can use a camera to “see” the environment and send data (數(shù)據(jù)) to the mind. Now the bionic eye only allows patients to see lights and unclear shapes. A high resolution (高清的) image could be just a few years away.

       Self-driving cars

Unlike a human driver,a self-driving car won’t get distracted (分心) by phone call, the radio or something outside the window. Sensors (探測(cè)器) and cameras on the car would allow it to stick strictly to the rules of the road and keep a safe distance from other cars. This would greatly reduce the number of road accidents. You could even take a nap while the car driver itself. In the future, driverless cars would be widely accepted.

() 36.   has stopped using cash completely.

   A. Sweden   B. ATM   C. BBC   D. America

() 37. What does the writer mainly tell us about digital money?

   C. The blind wearing bionic eyes may see clearly in the future.

   D. There will be no road accidents at all if self-driving cars are used.

() 39. From the report,we can learn some information about   .

   A. culture and art           B. industry and farming

   C. science and technology    D. traffic and journey

() 40. Which of the following can be predicted (預(yù)測(cè)) from the passage?

North American black bears are shy animals. They are fearful by nature and will usually run away if they see or hear people. Because of this it can be difficult for scientists to learn about these animals.

In order to study black bears, researchers from New Jersey USA catch bears and use drugs to help them go to sleep. Researchers then work

out the size and the weight of the bear, take blood to test for diseases, remove a tooth and take it to the lab to find out its age. From these studies, researchers want to find out how many bears live in New Jersey, how long they live and how many babies they produce.

But in Minnesota USA. researchers study bears that are completely awake. The bears know the researchers, voices and they are not afraid of the research team. With the help of a few grapes to keep the bears busy, researchers can touch them to check their hearts, look at their teeth and do other jobs. Researchers can also walk or sit with bears for hours and make videos to learn about their everyday lives.

In both places the main purpose is the same —to make sure there is a healthy population of black bears. But the research methods and the kinds of information that researchers are able to collect are quite different.

Today I went to Sam's school in the UK. It was really different from my school in China.

Girls wore grey skirts and white shirts, boys wore grey trousers, ^.nd everyone wore the school tie.

Some of Sam's lessons were a bit strange for me. We were reading Shakespeare in the English lesson, and there were quite some old words like “thou” and “thee” to mean “you”. In history we studied 20th Century China. It was strange hearing a foreign side of history—and hearing English people trying to say all our Chinese names!

Classes were also a lot more relaxed than in China. Teachers were called “sir” or “miss”. Everyone shouted answers and raised their hands in classes. It was more like a debate than a class. A bell rang at the end of each lesson and everyone jumped up to go to the next class.

At break we bought potato chips and cookies in the dining room. Lunch was later than in China—at 1o’clock. We had big plates of pie with carrots. For dessert there was hot sweet rice called rice pudding.

It was good that I'd had an excellent lunch, because at Sam's school Monday afternoons are taken up with sports.

I played my first game of netball—a bit like basketball, but with some differences. Luckily Yd had a quick look in the rule book before I tried to join in the game.

   A. Pie and hot sweet rice. B. Potato chips.

   C. Cookies.                D. Carrots.

   A. 4 hours. B. 2 hours. C. 3 hours. D. 6 hours.
