知識點三 elderly,elder 與 old

三詞均可指“年老的，年邁的”。其區(qū)別是:old指年事已高，接近生命的終點；elder表示 “年齡較大的，年長的”，指相對于某人或某事來說年齡比較大;elderly指已過中年，意為 “較老的，接近老年的”，是絕對意義上的年紀(jì)較大，常有尊敬和威嚴(yán)的意味。
