   When we look up at the shining stars on a clear night,we sometimes can't help wondering： Is there life on other p 1   or are we really alone in the universe (宇宙) ？

   A lot of scientists have tried and are still trying to find out answers t 2   these questions. Some of them are c 3   out a programme called SETI   (對外星智能的探索) .They meet at Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico. There,they use a large antenna   (天線) and hope that they will make c 4   with other life forms from outer space.

   The antenna is over 300 metres wide. It looks for m 5   from the universe.If there is a life somewhere in the universe,it will probably send out some radio signals. This antenna will p 6   them up.

   People who want to take part in SETI only need a computer,because the i 7   from the antenna is on the Internet. About 2  million people have already c 8   to the site.They are looking for alien signals on their computers,but they haven’t found any y 9  .

   If someone discovers an unusual message,this will mean that h 10   are not the only intelligent creature (智能生物) in the universe. People are interested,in finding any signal from aliens.Well,we must wait and see.
