After I did the " Weighing in on Recycling" experiment(實(shí)驗(yàn))，I wanted to find out more about how I could help reduce the amount of rubbish we produce. I asked my friends at the Ohio EPA and they told me about the three R's ― reduce, reuse and recycle.

The third step is to recycle. Be sure that you don't throw away things that can be recycled into something else. Paper，plastic and aluminum (鉛)cans can all be recycled.

When you turn on the lights at New Farm,you are using electricity that comes from cows.

Cows produce a lot of waste. One cow can create about 135 liters(升)of waste in a single day. There are about 1,000 cows at New Farm. Imagine how much waste they produce every day!

But the digester has a good result. Its gas is kept and used to power electric generators(發(fā)電機(jī))， At New Farm,the generators make enough electricity to provide for 400 homes. Mr. Smith sells the electricity his farm does not need.
