【題目】You may know that more people drink coffee than tea around the world. And that, after oil, it is the second biggest traded commodity(商品). You may also know that the drink comes from beans which are first roasted and then ground(研磨). But what else do you know about this popular drink?
It is said that the story of coffee started with an Ethiopian goatherd(牧羊人)named Kaldi. One day Kaldi was surprised to see that his goats were behaving(舉止) very strangely. Instead of grazing(吃草) quietly, they were jumping around, almost dancing. He also noticed some red “cherries” from a plant that the goats were eating. He tried some himself and was surprised by the feeling of happiness and excitement. He felt like dancing too!
But it wasn’t used as a drink at first. It was used as food. The coffee berries, mixed with animal fat, were used by monks(和尚) to stay awake during long hours of prayer(禱告). From Ethiopia, coffee was later cultivated(培育) in Yemen and the first hot drink was developed there around AD 1000. Three centuries later,Coffee houses appeared in Cairo and Mecca.
For many many years the plants were protected safely. But some beans were smuggled(偷運(yùn)) out of Arabia and taken to India. In the 17th century, coffee was soon grown in a new continent. From India to Indonesia, a century later the beans were once again smuggled to Brazil. Brazil is now the largest coffee producer in the world.
It was the caffeine(咖啡因) that made the goats dance and kept the moks awake. Although it is found in other soft drinks and tea, coffee has the most caffeine. In the short term(短期), a couple of cups of coffee can prevent fatigue and delay sleep. But several cups a day, every day, can cause anxiety(焦慮) and restlessness(坐立不安).

【題目】A habit is an action that we have acted so often that it becomes something we do almost without thinking. Some of them are not good habits. People spend many hours and dollars each year trying to give up(放棄) these bad habits but often fail. Why? Change is hard work and there is no shortcut to get it. However, there are still some suggestions(建議)for you to follow.
First, look at why you do it. In other words, what’s the result of doing this thing? If your bad habit is shouting at people when you are unhappy or under pressure(壓力), what do you get from it? It may make you feel a little better for the moment. Or maybe you have a bad habit of not finishing your homework. The result could be that you get more time to spend on the Internet!
Next, take a look on the other hand. What are you losing because of your habit? Shouting at other people is a bad habit because it makes people around you feel bad and unhappy. Not finishing you homework is a bad habit because you may be punished(懲罰) by your teacher. Having more Internet time means that you are losing the chance to learn the things you need to learn. When you think that way, you’ll find that it’s not wise to keep your bad habit! Now it is time to make a decision(決定). What will you choose? I’m sure you will choose to do something that is more important.

A. it’s not easy to break bad habits
B. we must change all the habits we have

A. something dangerous may happen
B. there is a long way and a short way

【3】According to the passage, if you want to give up your habits, you have to _______.
