【題目】 The story I would like to tell happened about a year ago. I accepted a position in a company. John, who I knew, told me much about the job and took my curriculum vitae (簡歷) to his manager. I did not see him as a friend because at the time we did not take part in activities together outside of work, nor did our wives.

The first week was fine. Nothing was clearly strange with John at first until the second week, when our communication began to get a little strange. John began making conversations like "you would have had to pay an employment agency(職業(yè)介紹所)several hundred dollars for a job like this". I soon forgot his words till the next day when he made another similar conversation. Right then I started to really pay attention to what he meant. He acted as if I owed him money for helping me to get the job.

He began to get short with me and I had only been there for two weeks. He should train me in building our e-mail servers(服務(wù)器). Instead, he went through the process so fast that even an experienced worker could hardly keep up. He would not slow down or check whether I was with him or not. If there was something wrong with a server, he would just deal it by himself and not stop to say anything like "you might want to remember this. " I was in a bad mood from then on.

By the third week I began to get tired of his condescension (傲慢). So I began to challenge him in a way that was only one to one. He would reply to a question of mine with a question or just make me repeat it, and then cut in on me. I began to hate him. Later I tried to avoid him as much as I could.

He stopped me one day and asked me what had happened. I told him he was very condescending. He asked me, “What can I do so that you will not feel like this way in the future?” I simply asked him to treat me with the same respect he would like to be treated with. He did it and we got along better slowly. I believed there was hope and finally we would become friends and now we are.

【題目】Topic: Do you think students should do homework in primary school?

Qu Dongdong, 13

I think there is no need to do homework in primary school. Some research has shown that students' grades do not improve when they have a lot of homework. This means they are w1 their time. So why not let students do something they like? They can learn a musical instrument or read books. This at least allows them to master a s2 and broaden their horizons(視野).

Li Yanhai, 13

Homework puts students under a lot of pressure. It is not good for kids' h3. They may easily get sick. Besides, homework often takes up too much of their free time. They don't have enough time to spend with family and playing with friends. When I was growing up, I thought primary school might be the best time to have fun. Also, I think there must be better ways for kids to review their knowledge instead of homework. For example, they can learn t4 fun games.

He Yulu, 13

Homework can help us review after a day of learning. We can see whether we have mastered what we learned. To some extent(在某種程度上), it is hard for kids to make plans. But homework helps them develop good learning h5. It will be useful for their future studies, or even their whole lives. Surely, homework does bring some pressure. But students will have to deal with it sooner or later. It encourages them to work harder.

Zhang Yuwenyao, 13

Students have l6 self-control(自控力). Without homework, they will freely play after school. I guess they will never open their books and review what they learned. So it is necessary for them to do homework, o7 they won't make any progress. Primary school studies are really important. They lay a foundation for future studies. If kids don't do well, it will have bad influence on their future.
