【題目】 Most of us eat to satisfy our appetite (胃口) for delicious food. But due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP), many Chinese people are changing their eating habits.

Because of busy work schedules, ordering simple and quick meals online used to be common for many young people in China. Zhang Xiaoyan, a 30-year-old from Nanjing, was one of them.在工作日,她通常在辦公室吃外賣食品而不是在家下廚。Even on weekends, she would prefer takeout food, which demanded (需要) little time.

Now, she rolls up her sleeves(袖子) and cooks for herself. “Cooking sometimes is quite time-demanding but it helps me have a healthy eating habit.” Zhang told China Daily.

Instead of eating in the restaurant, cooking at home has become more and more popular. Some even share food videos on their We Chat Moments at meal times.這被認(rèn)為是一種與朋友溝通的特殊方式。

Besides eating at home, many people also developed the good habit of using serving chopsticks and spoons. They thought it was not clean to use their own to eat dishes. They also eat separately in order not to get infected (感染).

Healthy eating habits and maintaining good order have become real problems for us. It’s related to people’s health and safety, and it’s also a personal responsibility during the pandemic (疫情) stated Guangming Daily.

The disease is still spreading, and more must be done to bring it under control. As long as these habits are good for our health, we should keep them from now on to fight against the virus.

For example, in the poem My Cottage Unroofed By Autumn Gales (《茅屋為秋風(fēng)所破歌》), he wrote that “Could I get mansions covering ten thousand miles, I’d house all scholars poor and make them beam with smiles.”

【題目】Eating Together, Separately

Separate dining is common in the western culture, while in China's dining culture, whether dining at home or eating out, a grouped dining system is used in most situations.

However, the coronavirus pandemic has challenged the deep-rooted Chinese dining tradition of sharing dishes together, which inspires the government, restaurants and citizens to rethink about eating customs.

Standards on individual (供一人用的)dining, serving chopsticks (公筷)and two pairs of chopsticks came out on March 18. Here are the main points.

Individual diners' food should he served to customers in separate tableware.

Each shared dish should be served with a separate pair of serving chopsticks.

Each diner should have two pairs of differently colored chopsticks. One is to get food from shared dishes to place into individual howls, and the other is for eating from individual bowls.

The above new standards aim to protect the public health in a scientific and practical way. Over 200 companies have followed the guidelines. In order to encourage customers to follow the standards, some restaurants offer parking coupons (優(yōu)惠券)to those who use serving chopsticks.

According to a survey about separate dining by think tank Thinker, nearly 89% of 100,000 interviewees believe it's more hygienic (衛(wèi)生的)because it reduces the risk of infection via saliva (唾液傳染).

For Chinese, it is not easy to change their dining behavior, because they think the grouped dining system is a tradition. When they share the food, they are building up a close relationship among diners. Besides, it is difficult to divide Chinese dishes into separate parts.

Eating separately is a break from tradition, but it is helpful to prevent diseases and improve health. People can still sit at the same table, sharing the same food and the same culture in a new way. It also encourages advanced cooking skills, which means a chance of creating something new in Chinese food.
