It's Really a Miracle(奇跡)

Mr. Clarke works in New York and brought his family to China. They visited many places of interest and had a good time here. Before they left for Shanghai, the Clarkes climbed up the Great Wall. It was the greatest project about three thousand years ago. They took a lot of photos there and then they had a picnic under a big tree. Suddenly it began to rain and they hurried to the car. And when they returned to the hotel, they couldn't find the bag in which their expensive camera was. They were all sorry for it:They could buy another camera but had no time to go to the Great Wall again. They could not miss the plane!

That evening they didn't have supper. Mr. Clarke hoped to make them happy and said, “Well. Let me tell you a story. An old man lived in a sixty-storey building. One day he fell down from it when he was cleaning the window. But he didn't hurt himself. ”

“It was a miracle!” called out his children. “Why?”

“Because he lived on the first floor!”

They all began to laugh while two policemen with a bag came in. They said a Chinese boy found it under the big tree and he asked them to find out who lost it.

“It's really a miracle!” the Clarkes said happily.

In Canada you can find dogs, cats, horses, etc. in almost every family. These are Canadian people's pets. People love these pets and have them as their good friends. I shook hands with my father in the truck, and for a long time he looked

straight ahead and didn't say a word. But I knew he was going to say a little to

me. "I can't say anything," he finally said. "I never went to college, and none

everything is different and I don't know what is going to come up. I'm sure you

can deal with it ."

He gave me a new checkbook (支票簿). "If things get pushing, write a small check. But when you write one, send me a letter and let me know. There are some things we can always sell."

"You know what you want to be, and they'll tell you what to take," my father went on."When you get a job, be sure to be honest, and work hard."

Then my dad reached his seat and brought the old, broken Bible that he had read so often, the one he used when he wanted to look something up in a friendly quarrel with one of the neighbours. Did it help? I got through college without being a burden (負(fù)擔(dān)) on the family. I have been able to make money since.
