Louis Braille was born in France two hundred years ago. He was a lovely boy. Unfortunately, when he was three years old, he couldn't see 1. There was something wrong with his eyes. He couldn't see all the lovely colors and beautiful things 2  him.

  When he was 10 years old, Braille went to a school of the National Institute for the blind in Paris. It was one of the first of its kind in the world. The children learned 3to read by feeling raised letters. But they could only read very few books in that way, and the school had only 14 books. Louis read all ofBut he wanted to help blind people5more. So Louis Braille began to invent his raised-dot system. He made a special alphabet 6 blind people could feel with their fingers. Each letter was made with 7 dots. He 8 it at the age of 15. Later, the alphabet that Louis invented is called " Braille”. Reading and writing for the blind became really easy with his system. His 9 was also used in math and music.

  Louis was a well-respected teacher at the Institute,but his Braille system 10at the
Institute during his lifetime. His system was finally, officially recognized(承認(rèn))in France
two years after his death, in 1854. Today when many blind people use " Braille" to help them to
