【題目】When I was a kid, the Easter (復(fù)活節(jié)) holidays in Australia were my favorite time of the year. As soon as they began in April, my family would head straight to the beach for a weekend of camping.
Unlike most of the world, Easter falls in autumn in Australia. This means that Easter is our last chance to enjoy the warm weather, swim in the ocean and sleep in the bush under the stars.
We’d pitch our tents(帳篷) on clear patches of grass and look out onto an almost empty beach. Often we were the only ones camping and the whole beach would be ours alone.
We used to spend all day outside – swimming, hiking and fishing. On Easter morning, my parents would wake up early and plan an Easter egg hunt for my three brothers and me. They would hide the eggs in the strangest places – in abandoned(廢棄的) bird nests in the trees, under our tents and in every corner of the stones that surround(環(huán)繞著) the beach.
In Australia, instead of chocolate bunnies, we had chocolate bilbies (兔耳袋貍). Bilbies are Australian animals with long ears. Chocolate bilbies were the best treat to find and there was always one for each of us.
But sometimes, other animals found them first, and all we’d find were brightly colored wrappers(包裝袋) with animal tooth marks.
After the hunt we would come back to the campsite with our bellies (肚子) full of chocolate. For us, Easter wasn’t about chocolate eggs or religious tradition. It was about being with our family in the great outdoors.

【題目】If you were in trouble, what would you do? Would you wait, ask for help or solve it by yourself? Here is a story about this topic. Once, a terrible flood destroyed the whole village. A man in front of a house was surrounded (被包圍) by the flood. he was not very scared because he always believed in God. He thought God must come there to save him for his . At that moment, a big wooden board came. If he caught it, the board him to become safe, but the man kept for God. He didn’t take a look at it at all. Dear Emma,
Your problem is like a circle. The harder you study, the less time you have to make friends and the less friendly you look to your classmates. The fewer friends you have, the harder you study to make (you) feel better.
Try to break this bad circle. Perhaps you are afraid of meeting new people, because you are too shy or too serious (begin) a conversation. You are not. (someone) has a fun side to his character. Push your shy side away and (給……看)your classmates how much fun you can be.
Look at your classmates. Try to find out (是否) or not there are any people with whom you feel you have a lot in common .
First, smile at your classmates. Do this as often as you can, until your classmates become used to your smiles and smile in return.
Next, talk to your classmates. Do this classes or during your lunch break. You may find easier to start by talking to people when they are (lonely).
Perhaps you could ask a classmate about your studies. They are likely to respond (回應(yīng)) in a very positive way. People like to feel important and helpful. must be someone else in your class who is also quiet. It might be easier to try to talk with him or her.
Your problem is mainly about confidence. Smile first, talk next and (slow) you will make friends. Once you have more confidence, you can make as many friends as you want.

Every weekend in Britain there’s a certain kind of shop that is always very busy, but it’s not one of the shops you might typically think of, but DIY (Do It Yourself) shops and garden centers. Each weekend huge numbers of people might not relax themselves, they spend their days doing improvements to their homes.
DIY projects are very popular in Britain and there are lots of TV programs which show people how they can improve their homes.
Some people enjoy simple decorations (裝飾) - put up wallpaper and paint walls, but there is a whole range of different DIY projects that people decide to take on, from changing the new floor or setting a new shower.
Unluckily, some people bite off more than they can chew (自不量力), and try to take on jobs which end in DIY disasters (災(zāi)難). For example, often the shops will tell their customers that anything electrical should be done by an electrician (電工), but many people don’t care this warning and put themselves in danger.
