Thanksgiving is a United States holiday. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November in the US On this special day, families get together to thank God for the autumn harvest(收獲). Parents buy lanterns (燈籠) for their children so that they can go to a lantern party in the early morning,, Lanterns mean brightness, so the parents hope that the party could bring good luck to their kids. On this day, children also make face masks (面具) lanterns and perform Vietnamese dances. They take part in contests for prizes and money for school.
