Once there was a family of rabbits.

51.        Every evening the rabbits loved to see the big round moon reflected (反射) in the water. One day,some elephants stopped to drink the water in the pool.

52.         The rabbits weren't very happy. "Those elephants are too big,"said the oldest rabbit.

"They will squash (壓扁) us with their big feet. We must tell them to go away. " 

53.         that night the smallest rabbit hid in the grass by the pool. When the elephants came to drink,the rabbit called out, "I'm the moon and this pool is mine. You are drinking my water!"

The elephants were amazed (吃驚的) ！ 54.         One elephant put his trunk (象鼻)

into the water to touch the moon's reflection. And it broke up into little waves.

"Look!What you've done. "cried the smallest rabbit. "The moon was so angry and she's broken into a thousand pieces！" The elephants looked at the water and thought the moon was really angry.

55.         All the rabbits came out and danced. They thanked the smallest rabbit for his good idea and the reflection of the moon twinkled (閃爍) in the pool again.
