Years ago, I lived in a building in a large city. The next building only was a few feet away from mine. They was a woman lived there, and I had never met her, yet I could see she sat by her window each afternoon, drinking or reading.

I am writing to let you know that I wish to leave my job. It is my plan to leave after working for my 3-month notice period (離職通知期). At first, I planned to move my family to Florida in September. A farmer grew some vegetables in his garden. One day his wife was ill and he had no money. He had to sell some cabbages and carrots in the market. The next morning he took two baskets of vegetables to town. But it was raining hard that afternoon and there were few people in the street. When his vegetables were sold out, it was dark.
