Do you remember your dreams? Do people have the same dreams? Why do we dream? There are many questions about dreams. We dream during the REM (rapid (快的) eye movement) stage (階段) of sleep. We have about five periods of REM sleep during the night. The first REM cycle (周期) lasts about 10 minutes. As the night goes on, the REM cycle gets longer. By early morning, the REM cycle can last up to 90 minutes. Usually, it is in this last REM cycle that we remember our dreams.
Dreams change as people age. People may have several dreams each night. Some are like films and usually in color. They come to us over and over again. That may be because the dreamer is worrying about something and trying to find the answer. Sometimes we wake up with a good feeling from a dream. But often we can’t remember the dreams clearly.
It is reported that too much dreaming is bad for our health. The more we sleep, the longer we dream. The mind is hard at work. That is why we may have a long sleep and still feel tired when we wake up.
1.We dream during the REM stage of sleep.
2.Children aged eight or nine have the same dreams as people aged thirty.
3.All the dreams are usually in color like films.
4.The longer we dream, the better we sleep.
5.The passage above is talking about dreaming.

If you do not use your arms or your legs for some time, they will become weak. When you start using them again, they slowly become strong again. Everybody knows that. Yet many people do not seem to know that memory works in the same way.
When someone says that he has a good memory, he really means that he keeps his memory in practice by using it. When someone else says that his memory is poor, he really means that he does not give it enough chance to become strong.
If a friend says that his arms and legs are weak, we know that it is his own fault. But if he tells us that he has a poor memory, many of us think that his parents may be blamed, and few of us know that it is just his own fault. Have you ever found that some people can't read or write but usually they have better memories? This is because they cannot read or write but they still have to remember things. They have to remember days, names, songs and stories, so their memory has been exercised.
So if you want to have a good memory, learn from the people: practice remembering things in a way as other people do.
1.Someone can't have a good memory if __________.

3. Which of the following is TRUE?
A. Your memory works in different way as your arms or legs.

D. A good memory comes from one’s parents.
4. Few people know that it is ________ if a friend has a poor memory.
A. his own fault
B. his parents' fault
C. his teachers' fault
D. nobody's fault
5.In the passage, the writer wants to tell us to practice _________.

Do you know what the hump(駝峰) of a camel is used for? If you answered to store water, guess again. In fact, a camel's hump is a place for storing fat.
Most animals, including humans, store fat throughout their bodies, under their skin. But camels store their fat in one place, their hump. A hump can weigh as much as 80 pounds. Why do camels keep their fat this way? The answer is most likely because of their environment. Camels can go up to two weeks without eating because they have this fat to live off.
Also camels are great at handling(處理,應(yīng)付) changes in body temperature. Their humps can help the camels keep cooler. Their coats also help them adapt(適應(yīng)) to the heat. While the coat is thick, it reflects(反射)the sunlight and protects the camel from the heat that rises off the desert sand.
There are two kinds of camels, those with one hump and those with two humps. Camels with one hump are called Dromedary or Arabian camels. They live in the dry deserts in West Asia. Camels with two humps are called Bactrian camels. They live in Central and East Asia.
Besides their humps, camels have a lot of interesting facts. They can live between 40~50 years. They can carry about 400 pounds and run up to 40 miles per hour. It's true that camels can go long time without drinking water, and they can drink about 26 gallons of water at a time. Camels can also close their nostrils(鼻孔). So whether a camel has one hump or two, it is one amazing animal that is very well adapted to its environment.
1.What is a camel's hump used for?
A. Storing water. B. Storing fat.
C. Carrying food. D. Carrying riders.
2. From the passage we can learn that ________.
A. camels' humps are very interesting
B. camels' humps can make them amazing
C. a camel's hump can weigh as much as 80 pounds
D. camels with two humps are called Dromedary camels
3.Which is the best title of the passage?

閱讀短文,根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容回答問題。
Where can you get beauty, knowledge and insight(深刻的見解) all in one? The answer is probably a museum.
There is a long list of benefits someone can get from going to a museum. However, the best part of museum is they encourage people to become lifelong learners.
Socrates once said, “Wisdom begins in wonder.” Each time you visit a museum, it could spark(激起) an interest in a field you might never have heard before. Every time we go through museum exhibits, we see something we didn’t know anything about. It encourages us to go home and look up more information.
To help students better understand what they have learned in schools, many schools use museums as a tool to add to their curriculum(課程). For example, you may have learned about static(靜電) in physics classes. But in a science museum, you can have a more hands-on experience of how amazing static can be. When you touch a big ball full of static electricity, all your hair stands up straight like an angry lion!
In the US, there is the New York Museum Education Act. It says that New York’s museums and schools should become partners to help students prepare for the 21st century. In China, the government asks more schools to organise more museum trips. Earlier this year, the popular travel website Trip Adviser asked its users to rank(評級)theirs favourite museums. They picked the top 25 museums in the world. The first three are: The Metropolitan Museum of Art,New York, US. Musee d’Orsay, Paris, France and the Art Institute of Chicago, US. The Museum of Qin Terracotta Warrior and Horses in Xi’an, Shanxi is the only Chinese museum on the list, which was ranked 23rd.
So come to the museums and there are lots of things to see.
1.Can you get beauty, knowledge and insight in a museum?
2.What’s the best part of museum?
3.Why do many schools use museums as a tool to add to their curriculum?
4.In China, what does the government ask more schools to do?
5.What is the passage mainly about?
