In the West, a year is divided into 12 star signs. (1)Some people believe people born under the same star sign may share the similar personalities. In China it is believed that the year of birth forms people's personality. In the past century, a new idea has arisen (產(chǎn)生).It says that personality is decided by ABO blood type. People with blood type A， for example, are more likely to be serious, hard-working and quiet, while people with blood type O are likely to be popular and outgoing, yet they are often unable to finish what they start. Of course, some people think it may not be true.

The blood type personality theory (理論)started in Japan. In 1927, Furukawa Takehi (古川竹二) noticed

 personalities among his workers were either different or the same. He began to write articles about it. This idea soon became popular. Now the theory is still strong in Japan and some other Asian countries. Some young Koreans like the theory. A recent study shows that 76 per cent of Koreans aged between 13 and 64 believe in the blood type personality theory. Many people might believe in it, and it seems harmless. But is it true?
