閱讀短文, 根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容用完整的句子回答下列問題. 答案寫在答卷的相應(yīng)位置上。
I am Daisy Jones. At about 8:30 this morning, I was walking on Ocean Road when a boy on a bike passed me quickly. The road was empty at that time so the boy kept riding in the middle.
Suddenly a car appeared. It passed me, then followed the boy for a while. It tried to pass the boy several times but failed. The driver began to sound the horn(鳴笛). However, it seemed that the boy didn't hear it. He was probably listening to music with earplugs(耳塞)! That was terrible.
Suddenly the car speeded up and passed the boy. Unluckily it hit the boy. The boy fell off his bike onto the road. But the car did not stop. It continued on its way. I believe the driver knew he had hit the boy because I saw him look back from the window.
The car was quite old. It was a red Ford Escort. But its number plate(車牌)was so dirty that I couldn't see its number. The driver was a man with long hair. He wasn't old but I can't guess his age.
I ran to the boy mid saw he was badly hurt. So I called the police at once. They soon arrived. The boy was sent to the hospital at once. I told a police officer what I had seen. She asked me to make a statement at the police station.
1.Where did the accident happen?
2.What did the driver do after failing to pass the boy?
3.Why couldn't Daisy get the car number?
4.Did Daisy know how old the driver exactly was?
5.How was the boy after the accident?

Choose the best answer(根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,選擇最恰當(dāng)?shù)拇鸢福?/p>
A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking is worth reading, especially for those who love science, space, physics, and the universe (宇宙). About half of Hawking’s text is rather hard to understand, which must be the reason why he added pictures to newer editions. Some of the “abstract (抽象)” things are hard to imagine, so the pictures help you understand.
This book is based on theoretical physics (理論物理). Most people read the cover and think that it will be way over their heads, but it’s not. There are two ways to read it. You can read the chapter overviews, which are basic and you’ll still learn a lot, but it won’t be too difficult. Or, you can read the full details (細(xì)節(jié)) in each chapter, which is how you’ll learn the most.
This book makes references (參考) to other physicists, history, and current social and economic issues (問題), and explains how each of us is involved in the universe. Dr. Hawking also openly says “I think” about things. He gives his view on matters and shows the facts to help you see what you think the answer is, so it seems as if (好像) he was talking directly to you.
The reason why I love this book more than any other physics “text” is because Dr. Hawking wrote it like a novel. He’s telling a story, the story of the universe, and it’s just fun to read!
I always want to know how and why something is, and in this book Dr. Hawking always answers this question as best he can. If he can’t give you a definite answer, he’ll tell you what he thinks and help you develop your own opinion. I truly hope that you will read this unusual book.

A.read the full details in each chapter B.read the chapter overviews

For convenience(方便). plenty of people prefer having a takeaway(外賣)to cooking at home. Now there is an app through which people can enjoy delicious and cheap takeaway food.
Too Good To Go, an app being used in the UK, allows users to order leftover(剩余的)food at a low price from restaurants. The purpose is to cut down on food waste, as lots of restaurants usually throw away the food that can still be eaten at the end of the day.
Users just need to pick a restaurant and pay through the app. Then they pick up their food at planned times usually around closing time or after peak (高峰期的) meal times.
"Food waste is one of the biggest problems we have in this world," one creator of the app said. "The restaurant industry is wasting about 600,000 tons of food each year." By the end of August, Too Good To Go had helped save about 600 meals in the UK.
Users also have the choice to give meals to people who are in need by donating one British pound or more through the app. By the end of August, more than 1,100 meals had been donated.
Too Good To Go isn't the first app to try to deal with food waste. In Spain, the Yo No Desperdicio app allows people to exchange leftover food with each other. In the last century, differnet natural disasters have robbed several cultural heritage(遺產(chǎn)) from us. On WeChat, some people say, “What a pity that we cannot see the damaged parts of the wonders anymore.” But people can see them in a new way---through a video game. In this game, the player can travel to one city after another and enter the buildings exactly like they are in reality, and see the wonders as they were before the fire.
Maybe digital technology(數(shù)字技術(shù)) could help protect cultural heritage better. This idea dates back to the 1990s and the necessary technology has continued to develop since then. By scanning(掃 描) the ancient buildings, building 3D models, as well as measuring everything, engineers can make a copy exactly as the real one.
As computers and smart phones are popular, the digital copy has great value. First, it allows tourists to feel the cultural heritage without touching them, which helps protect them. The virtual tour of Dunhuang Grottoes(敦煌石窟) is a good example of this as tourists can view the paintings without standing near them.
Second, it can make the cultural heritage more famous by spreading information about them through the internet. In 2000, a virtual tour of the Dunhuang Grottoes became very popular at the Hannover World Expo, which increased the number of foreign tourists visiting the site in the following years.
Last, it stores all the information of the cultural heritage. Even if the real ones are damaged one day, people can still know what they were like and can build a new one if wanted. Of course, however exact a model, it is not the real one.
Maybe we will have better technologies in the future, but the digital technology offers a practical way to protect cultural heritage at the moment.
