【題目】The earth is about 4,600 million years old. Modern man has lived on the earth for only 35,000 years, but during that time, we have changed the earth in many ways. Many of the things that we have done are good, but more are not good for the earth.
Water Pollution
A lot of people, birds and fish die each day because of water pollution. Factories have polluted the land and the water. As a result, many rivers and lakes are now dead.
Air Pollution
In big cities, factories, as well as cars, trucks and buses are the main causes of air pollution. Many people in cities now have serious health problems. For example, Mexico City used to be a beautiful sunny capital, but today it is always covered by thick brown clouds.
Soil Pollution
In order to have a good harvest, most of the farmers use chemicals too much in their fields. That’s bad for the soil. But this kind of pollution is difficult to stop.

In the Lukou airport in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, more than 60 flights were cut out on Saturday because of the hazy weather, which also made primary and middle schools and kindergartens stop having classes on Thursday and Friday in Nanjing. Earlier this week, the Ministry of Environmental Protection said that there were several reasons for the heavy haze. Especially Bad weather conditions made it difficult for polluting things to disappear.

To write a great news story, you have to make sure it is correct, relevant (相關(guān)的) and fresh.
For a start, all the information in a story must be correct. Not only the spelling and grammar, but also the facts.
Any mistakes that show up in a story can get a newspaper into big trouble.
For example, if a newspaper said that Yang Liwei was the first man to go into space, it would be wrong. He wasn’t the first. The newspaper would probably lose lots of readers because of that mistake.
A news story does not only have to be correct, but it must also be relevant to its readers. People are mostly interested in news that happens near to them. That’s why you care more about what happens at your school than at schools in America. It’s also why newspapers in Beijing don’t talk much about news in Shanghai or Hong Kong.
Finally, news must always be fresh. When you pick up your evening newspaper, you want to read about news that happened that day. You don’t want to read about news from last week!
So, now you know what makes a good news story. Have a look at our paper and see if it’s full of good news! You can try writing a news story for our paper like a real reporter.
Topic: 【1】 to write a story like a real reporter

【題目】Today there are 6.4 billion people on the earth. By the year 2050 there may be 12.5 billion. There are many people to feed. We need more and more food.
One way to produce more food is growing stronger plants. For thousands of years, farmers have made plants better. Every season, they pick the best plants for the next season. It works very slowly. By changing the genetic material of a plant, it is possible to make new plants. Scientists make plants which are strong against plant diseases. They can also help in our diseases; a kind of rice will be grown, for example, which stops people becoming blind.
