【題目】 We are excited when we reach our goals, and at that moment we laugh, clap and so on. Without doubt, good results make us joyful. However, we cannot always get what we want and be the winner all the time. Some people can’t help doubting “Are our efforts in vain?” The answer is “No”. We should remember that we are not only measured(測量)by how many goals we've reached, but how we acted, which means, process is also important.
Here is an example. Fruits are delicious. It takes trees a long time to bear them. In the process of growing, trees have to suffer from bad weather, insect bites and also intentional destructions(故意的破壞) from human beings, So it is with us. Our life is like a journey. At the beginning, we set a goal, dreaming of it every night, but we should never forget that we spend most of our time on the journey. Unfortunately, many people only complain about the failure and then give up hope. In fact, it is the failure that teaches us to be brave and stand on our own.
I myself deeply believe that only those who experienced a lot can own the highly-valued characters, and that only those who adventured(冒險) can have the chance to succeed. It is said “No pain, no gain.” We are still young, still full of energy, so why are we afraid of failure and why do we hesitate(猶豫)to take an adventure?
Young men, let’s forget results, leave out pain, and just look forward and don’t miss any chance on the journey!

【題目】 Perhaps you've watched the recent movie Better Days, which focuses on bullying ( 霸凌)at school. It has raised heated public discussion about how to deal with bullying. In fact, the government is doing a lot of things to solve this problem, as it has become increasingly serious.
On October 26, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress reviewed a draft revision( 修訂草案) to the law on the protection of minors ( 未成年人) for the first time, China Daily reported. The draft includes a number of new and improved rules to strengthen the protection of minors.
One focus is bullying. A survey of primary and middle school students showed that more than 32 percent of students have experienced bullying at school, Global Times reported.
The draft asks schools to set up rules to prevent bullying and to report any bullying events to parents. They are also being asked to work with the government when dealing with such incidents.
The draft also includes a new part- Internet Protection. It aims to protect children when they're online. For example, it says that places that provide internet services for teenagers, such as schools and libraries, should have protective software (軟件) on their computers.
It also asks online game providers to sort through their products and do something to keep minors away from games that are not suitable for them.
The draft revision has been widely welcomed. As the law on the protection of teenagers was revised (修訂) in 2006 last time, it was found to have difficulties solving certain problems that are more common today.

We live in Bedford, a town near London. My father is a hard— working pilot, so he doesn't have much time to look after us.
When I was a kid, my mum liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular, when she had made breakfast food after a long, hard day at hospital.
On that evening so long ago, my mum placed a plate of eggs, sausage and terribly burnt biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone notices. Yet all my dad did was reach for a biscuit, smile at my mum and ask my brother and me how we had been doing at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him put butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!
When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mum apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I will never forget what he said, "Honey, I love burnt biscuits."
Later that night, I went to kiss my dad good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burnt. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your mum is really tired after a hard day's work. Besides, a little burnt biscuit could never hurt anyone. We have been married for 17 years. She always cooks for me. Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket but into your own."

The world is not hungry, but it is thirsty.1. It seems strange that nearly3/4 of the earth is covered with water while we say we are short of water. Why? Because about 97% of water on the earth is sea water which we can't drink or use for watering plants directly. Man can only drink and use 3%—the water that comes from rivers and lakes. 2.而且由于有一些水已經被污染, 我們甚至不能全部利用。
Now more water is needed. The problem is:Can we avoid(避免)a serious water shortage later on? Firstly, we should all learn how to save water. Secondly, we should find out ways to reuse it. Scientists have always been making studies in the field. 3. Today. in most large cities. water is used only once and then runs to the sea or rivers. But it can be used again.4. Even if every large city reused its water. still it would not be enough. Thirdly, there is a lot of water in the sea. What we should do is to separate the salt from the sea water. This is expensive, but it's already used in many parts of the world.5.科學家們正在盡力找出一個更加便宜的方式來做這件事。So you see, if we can find a way out. we'll be in no danger of drying up.
