I still remember a rainy day when I was in Grade 7.On that day, I overslept and hurried to school by bike. At a street corner, I fell down and hurt my legs so badly that I couldn't move at all. A passer-by sent me to the hospital at once. I was so thankful that I decided to help others from then on. A few weeks later, on my way to school, I saw a blind man standing at a crossing I helped him cross the street and showed him to the place he wanted to go to. How happy I was!

【題目】閱讀下列短文,根據(jù)短文信息完成文后表格,每空一詞。
This week, our topic is pollution. What are the answers to all of our pollution problems? We asked two experts to give their views.
◇Forest Smith is a member of Green First, an environmental group.
Our future on the Earth looks very bad. We are dumping waste on our land. We can't breathe the fresh air. The sea is polluted too.
I visited some relatives recently in a small village. They grow their own food and cycle everywhere. They are not wealthy, but they are happy and healthy.
We must close the factories producing useless products. That will reduce rubbish and air pollution. We must recycle more, give up all cars, and improve public transport.
A big problem is overpopulation in big cities. We must give up big cities and factories, and go back to a simple way of life.
◇John Green is a scientist at a university.
Things are not as bad as Forest says. We'll have a bright future. We don't need to give up cars but we need to invent better, cleaner engines.
This won't stop the problem of traffic jams. So we need better public transport. We should also recycle more.
But some things are getting better. My sister returned last month after living abroad for five years. She said, “Our old neighbourhood doesn't look the same as before-it is cleaner and greener now.”
In a word, science has brought many improvements to our life.

【題目】根據(jù)短文理解,選擇正確答案。
Today, air travel is far safer than driving a car on a busy motorway. But still there is a danger that grows every year. Airliners get larger and larger. Some airplanes can carry over 300 passengers. And the air itself becomes more and more crowded. If one large airliner struck into another in midair, 600 lives could be lost.
From the moment an airliner takes off to the moment it lands, every movement is watched on radar screens. Air traffic controllers tell the pilot exactly when to turn, when to climb and when to come down.
The air traffic controllers around a busy airport like London, Heathrow may deal with 2,500 planes a day. Not all of them actually land at the airport. Any plane that flies near the airport comes under the orders of the controllers there. Even a small mistake on their part could cause a terrible accident.
Recently such a disaster almost happened. Two large jets were flying towards the airport. One was carrying 69 passengers from Toronto, the other 176 passengers from Chicago. An air traffic controller noticed on his radar(雷達(dá)) screen that the two planes were too close to each other. He ordered one to turn to the right and to climb. But he made a mistake. He ordered the wrong plane to do this. So, instead of turning away from the second plane the first plane turned towards it. Fifteen seconds later, it flew directly in front of the second plane. They avoided each other by the smallest part of a second. The distance between them was less than that of a large swimming pool. This is an example of the danger that grows every year.
(1)The air traffic controllers of an airport _______.
A.control all the planes flying near the airport
B.give orders to planes leaving the airport
C.only deal with the planes that want to land there
D.are allowed to handle 250 planes a day
(2)The danger of air crashes(碰撞) grows every year because ________.
A.airliners are getting larger and air traffic is becoming heavier
B.a pilot does not always hear a controller's order
C.a controller is likely to make more and more mistakes
D.airports can hardly serve the growing number of airplanes
(3)The example in the passage is to show that _______.
A.air traffic controllers are often careless
B.air traffic controllers should pay much attention to avoiding accidents
C.it is difficult for airplanes to avoid terrible accidents
D.two planes should not fly too close to each other

【題目】Answer the questions IN COMPLETE SENTENCES:

In 1826, a Frenchman named Niepce needed pictures for his business. But he was not a good artist. So he invented a very simple camera. He put it in a window of his house and took a picture of his garden. That was the first photo.

The next important date in the history of photography was in 1837. That year, Daguerre, another Frenchman, took a picture of his reading room. He used a new kind of camera in a different way. In his picture you could see everything very clearly, even the smallest thing. This kind of photo was called a Daguerreotype.

Soon, other people began to use Daguerre's way. Travelers brought back wonderful photos from all around the world. People took pictures of famous buildings, cities and mountains. In about 1840, photography was developed. Then photographers could take pictures of people and moving things. That was not simple. The photographers had to carry a lot of film and machines. But this did not stop them. For example, some people in the United States worked very hard. Mathew Brady, a famous American photographer, was one of them. He took many pictures of great people. The pictures were unusual because they were very lifelike(栩栩如生). Photography also became one kind of art at the end of the 19th century. Some photos were not just copies of the real world. They showed some feelings, like other kinds of art.

1Why did Niepce invent the first camera?

2According to this passage, how many important dates were there in the history of photography?

3In the early days, photographers didn't feel like taking pictures of moving things because they had to carry a lot of film and machines, did they?

4How were the pictures taken by Mathew Brady?

5Why do people think photography had become a kind of art by the end of the 19th century?
