For an Olympic gold medalist(金牌得主), what is the difference between the first gold and the second one? Zhou Yang knows the answer.

On Feb 15, the 22-year-old short track speed skater(短道速滑運(yùn)動(dòng)員)successfully kept her 1,500m Olympic gold at the Sochi Winter Games. Four years ago at Vancouver(溫哥華), Zhou won her first Olympic gold in the same race. After the first gold, the excited Zhou thanked her parents in front of TV cameras. But her words caused criticism(批評(píng))from some officials because she didn’t thank her country. More criticism followed. It was too much for the then 18-year-old Zhou. She started to suffer from depression(抑郁癥)and could eat only two pieces of bread every day. In 2011, she left the national team.

It was not until the end of 2012 that Zhou finally came back. She made great progress after her return. She ranked(排名)21st in the 1,500m at the World Cup last season and has now risen to third place this season. “I went through a lot in the four years and I had thought about giving up,” Zhou said. “But I really love skating so I came back.”

“The two gold medals are so different to me,” she said. “The first gold was like a dream come true, and this one, after four years, is the reward of my efforts and not giving up.”

Classic books never go out of fashion. The book The Outsiders first came out in 1967. Although the book is old, it is still worth reading. It is written by US writer S.E.Hinton.

The book tells the story of a 14-year-old boy called Ponyboy Curtis. He struggles with difficult issues of right and wrong in a society where he is an outsider. The story took place in Oklahoma, US, in 1965.

In the book, the children are divided into two groups. One includes Curtis and Greasers. It is mostly made up of poor kids. They have longer hair and often smoke at a young age. The other group is called the Socs, which is made up of rich children. They wear expensive clothes and drive high-tech cars. Those two groups do not get along well. The book only shows us two weeks of the boys' life.

I was touched by the friendship among the boys. When any of them has a problem, the others will help. Although they are not well educated(教育), they are kind and brave. For example, when Johnny was hurt and in hospital, his friends visited him almost every day. They brought him food and told him interesting stories. I always dream of having a strong friendship like this.

This book shows the good personalities(品質(zhì)) in those ordinary people. I advise that teenagers read this book and I hope they can enjoy it.

When you want to go shopping, decide how much money you can spend on new clothes. Think about the kind of clothes you really need. Then look for those clothes on sale. There are labels( 標(biāo)簽) inside all new clothes. The labels tell you how to take care of the clothes. The label for a shirt may tell you to wash it in warm water. If you do as the directions on the label, you can keep your clothes looking their best for a long time. Many clothes today must be dry -cleaned. Dry cleaning is expensive.
