A father isn’t happy with his only son. He doesn’t think his son is clever.
One day, the father gives his son a task. He says, here is a coin. Go to buy one thing. That must be something to eat, something to drink, and something to plant.
“What can I buy with one coin? It is too hard!” Then a girl finds the boy is not happy and comes up to him. “Can I help you? ” The boy tells her that hard task. “I know what you can do, ” she says. “Go and buy a watermelon with this coin. ” It will give you everything your father wants.” The boy thanks the girl and then runs to buy a watermelon.
When the father sees the watermelon, he is very happy. “Good Job!” “In fact, that’s not my idea. A girl helps me”, says the boy. The father then says, “Honesty is more important than cleverness.”

As a father, I always do my best to help my son, Peter. I like to help him with his study. I encourage him to join team sports. I send him to the summer camp if he wants to go. I also teach him to be both a good student and a useful man.
He used to make me feel proud. I often thought he was the best son and I was the best father in the world.
However, things changed two years ago. It was Peter’s 12th birthday. My wife and I bought him a computer as a present. We thought it was necessary for him to learn how to use a computer in the modern world. We knew that some children were addicted (上癮的) to computer games and that they didn’t study or work at all. Someone said that computers and the Internet were bad for children, but I didn’t worry about it. I trusted (信任) my son. I believed that he could control himself. Peter did very well at first. He played computer games, but for only two hours every week. Most of the time he studied or wrote articles on the computer. We felt very happy to see that.
When we finally learned that Peter was also addicted to computer games, it was too late. He didn’t like studying at all. He no longer joined team sports. Sometimes we even couldn’t find him at night. He spent several days and nights at the Internet cafe. We tried everything to help him, but nothing worked. What should we do?

I took the car to be serviced (維護(hù)) at a nearby garage. I happily accepted (接受). I drove Dad into Mijas, and promised to pick him up at 4 p.m., then got the car to the garage. Then I went to a theatre. However, when the last movie finished, it was six. I was two hours late!
