When I read a good article in a newspaper,Fll cut it down and keep it. But usually, just as I am about to do so,I find the article on the opposite side is interesting, too. It may be a discussion on how to keep in good health,or advice on how to behave in society. If I keep one article, the other one will be destroyed. As a result,I have to give up,and I always feel sorry for it.

Often in your life, two things may appear at the same time, and both draw your attention. But you can only take up one of them; the other one has to be given up. But how you wish to get them both!So you are caught in a fix and feel sad. You may feel it strange how these things come at the same time. But that is life, and you can only accept it. It may happen that your life changes because of your choice.

I still remember a philosopher's saying, " When one door shuts, another door opens in life. " So whatever you choose, don't regret!Your choice is always right.

Whatever we do in our lifetime, wherever life's storm throws us,there must be something we can achieve and some beaches we can land on. And new views will be always there waiting for us to discover. Don't forget that God always keeps one of the two doors open for everyone. While the front door is closed, there must be a back door open for you.

Chuck Wall teaches management and human relations at Bakersfield College. He walked into class one day and told his students that their homework was to perform one act of random (任意的) kindness. His students did not understand the homework and didn't know what to do,but the professor would not answer their questions. He encouraged his students to work it out for themselves.

One week later, the students entered the classroom excited to share their stories. One student told of giving away blankets to the homeless. Another reported on helping a dog to find its owner, and another student had been trying to find a long, lost friend. Students were energized (給予;舌力) by the homework assignment and wanted other people to be kind too. With the support of local businesses, the students made stickers to put on cars that invited people to do something kind for others. They sold the stickers and decided to donate the money to a center for the blind―not surprising as Professor Wall is blind.

Since then, similar kindness activities have been started in schools around the world. Many schools organize a Random Acts of Kindness Week, around November 13th,to celebrate World Kindness Day. Fighting CD Copiers

How much do you want to pay for a CD by your favourite singer Jay Chou? Five yuan for a pirated one,or more for a real one?

Wang Ye,14. said she would like the real one although the pirated one is cheaper. "A real one is worth keeping for years," said the girl from No. 1Middle School in Wuhu,Anhui. "Real CDs always sound better to me."

What Can We Do?

People want to do more to help those like Wang to get real CDs.

This week the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI,國際唱片業(yè)協(xié)會) asked many countries to act against piracy.

In many places in China, the government is checking audio and video products (產(chǎn)品) . Pirated ones are broken into pieces.

Piracy is in your daily life. Don't believe it? A study by 21st Century Teens found that more than 75 percent of juniors had listened to pirated music. They say this is because pirated products are usually much cheaper than the real ones.

Why are real CDs so expensive? When a music company makes music,it needs to pay the song writers and singers. It costs a lot of money! This makes the prices of the CDs go up. Piracy is like stealing. People who make pirated copies of CDs take away the writers1 and singers' work without paying them. They don't even ask them if they can.

So next time you'd better keep your eyes widened when you see cheap CDs,remember you're helping someone to do something wrong if you buy them.

A real CD has the name and trademark of the music company on the cover. The company's address, telephone number and fax number are also on it.

If you open the CD box, you'll see the singer's name and the album title. Most important of all,a real CD has a number from the IFPI on it.

Hello,my name's Xiao Jingwen. You can call me Irene. Fm 14 years old. I was born inChina. I used to live in Wuhan,Hubei. Now I am in Year 10        at Park side Community College,a school in Cambridge,UK. I'll tell you about the fun things I do in this country.

I like cycling, especially here in the UK. I live in Cambridge, where I can get anywhere on my bike. But biking in theUKis a different experience from biking inChina.

First of all,you have to ride on the left hand side of the road, not the right as you do in China. It was quite a challenge for me when I got here.

Once when I was on my bike I heard someone yell at me ," Wrong side!Wrong side!" I didn't get it first but then I saw the cars rushing by me. I was scared. Thank God,nothing crashed into me!

UK bikes have something Chinese bikes don't: lights. A white light at the front and a red one at the back. They are for safety when you're riding in the dark. If you don't have your lights on and the police stop you,you can be fined (罰款) .

You also need bicycle clips (裝備) for your trousers and a helmet (頭盔) .The clips are to stop your trousers getting caught in the chain.

Some people also have a milometer (計程表) on the handlebars (車把) .It shows them how many miles they have traveled.

But Chinese bikes have somethingUKbikes don't. In China, there are stands at the backs of bikes. You don't see those in theUK.

This means people can't just leave their bikes anywhere. There are special parks where you leave your bike. Smart, isn't it?
