Just as in face-to-face communication, there are some basic rules of behavior that should be followed on the Internet. The basic rule is simple: treat others in the same way you would want to be treated.
① Imagine how you’d feel if you were in the other person’s shoes.
For anything you’re about to send: ask yourself, “ Would I say that to the person’s face?” If the answer is no, rewrite and reread. If someone in the chat room is rude to you, you needn’t fire back. You should either ignore(不理睬) the person, or use your chat software to block their messages. Remember to respect the beliefs and opinions of others in the chat room.
②Offer advice when asked by newcomers, as they may not be sure what to do or how to communicate. When someone makes a mistake, be kind about it. If you do decide to tell someone about the mistake, point it out politely. At the same time, if you find you are wrong, be sure to correct yourself and apologize to those that you have offended. It’s impolite to ask about other’s private things like ages, sex and families. Unless you know the person very well, and you are both comfortable with sharing personal information, or don’t ask such questions.

Dear sir ,
I have travel every day from Souk Road to the airport. Two buses travel along the routes: the(路線): the number 49 and the number 16. But by the time the number 16 bus reaches Souk Road, it is always full, so I can’t get on it, I have to wait for the number 49 because sometimes there are empty seats on it.
The timetable says that there are buses from Souk Road to the airport every ten minutes. If this is true, why do I have to wait half an hour for a bus nearly every day?
The rules say that if there are empty seats on a bus, the bus must stop at every stop where people are waiting Why do the half-empty buses go straight(一直)past me when I am standing at bus stop?
The rules say that no bus may carry more than 40 seated passengers and 20 standing passengers. Yesterday I was the first to get off the bus when it reached the airport. I counted the other passengers as they got off. There were 129 people.

The days are getting shorter and shorter, and temperatures are dropping. Winter is coming and it is easy for people to catch flu. Many people have started taking vitamin C pills as a precautionary(預(yù)防的)way. But a research has shown that vitamin C pills do not provide as much protection as they think. They are even not as good as other ways, like often washing your hands. Some German scientists have given people information and a test on the subject helping to stop incorrect ways.
Whether it is caused by cold or flu(流行性感冒), a runny nose and sore throat are signs of catching a cold. Many people overestimate(高估) the advantages of vitamin C and other pills. For years it was believed that taking vitamin C pills not only provided protection against colds but also against cancers, helping people to live longer. But the result of the research showed disagreement on these beliefs(看法). The result has now come out on the website wwww.informedhealthonline.org. “Some pills may not help people live longer. Some pills may even lead to earlier death,” says Professor Peter Sawicki. Scientists also say that the best way to get vitamins is through food instead of having vitamin pills. That is to say, we disagree with the way of taking vitamin C pills.
There are many simple but useful ways to lower the risk of catching a cold. These include often washing your hands with normal soap(肥皂) and water and not touching your face with your hands. First, we should take exercise every day. Plenty of exercise helps us build a strong body and makes us work better. That is why more and more people are becoming active in different kinds of sports and exercises. In morning many people get up early and take exercise. Some practice running while others walk or dance to music. In the afternoon, there are also many people doing sports. Some play basketball or volleyball, others play football or badminton.

Second, have a healthy diet. Over-eat or too little food is very bad for our health. We should not eat too much or too little for every meal. We should eat healthy food, such as all sorts of grain, green vegetable and fruit.?

Let children learn to judge their own work. A child learning to talk does not learn by being corrected all the time: if corrected too much, he will stop talking. He notices a thousand times a day the difference between the language he uses and the language those around him use. Bit by bit, he makes the necessary changes to make his language like other people’s. In the same way, children learning to do all the other things: they learn to do without being taught to walk, run, climb, whistle, ride a bicycle, compare their own performances with those of more skilled people, and slowly make the needed changes. But in school we never give a child a chance to find out his mistakes and correct them for himself. We do it all for him. We act as if we thought that he would never notice a mistake unless it was pointed out to him, or correct it unless he was made to. Let him work out, with the help of other children if he wants it, what this word says, what the answer is to that problem, whether this is a good way of saying or doing this or not.

If it is a matter of right answer, as it may be in mathematics or science, give him the answer book. Let him correct his own papers. Why should we teachers waste time on such routine(常規(guī)) work? Our job should be to help the child when he tells us that he can’t find the way to get the right answer. Let the children learn what all educated persons must some day learn, how to measure their own understanding, and how to know what they know or do not know.

1.According to the passage, the best way for children to learn things is by ________.

A. listening to skilled people’s advice

A. Give children correct answers.

B. Allow children to make mistakes.

C. Point out children’s mistakes to them.

D. Let children mark their own work.

3.According to the writer, teachers in school should ________.

A. allow children to learn from each other

B. point out children’s mistakes whenever found

C. give children more book knowledge

D. correct children’s mistakes as soon as possible

4.The passage suggests that learning to speak and learning to ride a bicycle are ________.

A. different from learning other skills

B. the same as learning skills

C. more important than other skills

D. not really important skills
