I stood there listening to my father shout at the top of his voice. “Which one of you did this?” We all looked at the step. There was child’s handwriting in blue chalk there. Do you know about aerotrain(氣動(dòng)懸浮列車)? A high-speed aerotrain can run 400 to 500 km per hour. What a surprising speed it is! And it is being developed by China and Japan together. It’s said that the model of this high-speed aerotrain is more than one metre long. The bullet-nosed(子彈頭)car is like a high-speed train, and its body has wings, which are similar to the plan.
The aerotrain doesn’t run on traditional fuel resources(燃料資源)such as coal, gas or electricity. The train will be fully powered by natural energy. It will not only reduce costs but also improve the speed. The high-speed aerotrain is expected to change the world’s transportation situation, according to experts. People are looking forward to the type of high-speed aerotrain.
Lai Chenguang is a very famous expert. He comes from Chongqing University of Technology. He is good at this kind of technology in China. At the same time, he also takes part in the projects. He introduced that the first and second generation(一代)high-speed aerotrains have been tested. He believed that they could pass a series of strict tests smoothly.
“If the train runs at a speed of 500 km/h, it will use very little energy. The energy it consumes is only 1/3 of that of normal high-speed trains. It means that it will save more energy than normal high-speed trains,” Lai said. In addition, the passengers that the train carries will also be increased because of the new design.

School playgrounds are supposed to help kids stay active and healthy. But since 2015, toxic(有毒的)chemicals in running tracks have caused many students in several cities, including Shanghai, Beijing and Wuhan, to suffer from nosebleeds, headaches and coughs. It was found that the materials used to build the tracks in these school’s playgrounds contained high levels of toxic chemicals.
On November 1,2018, new standards for the materials used to build playgrounds in primary and middle schools across the country came into effect. The Ministry of Education(MOE)created these standards to protect students’ health.
The standards prohibit(禁止)the use of 18 chemicals for making running tracks, 11 more than the previous standards. The prohibited chemicals are harmful to the skin, eyes and noses and can even cause terrible diseases, China Daily noted.
For the first time, the standards also call for tests of the man-made grass that is used on some playgrounds as some of the materials used to produce man-made grass are highly toxic. Running tracks or patches(片)of man-made grass that does not meet these standards will be changed or removed.
The MOE has taken action in the last few years to keep playgrounds safe. Since 2016, it has invited experts and professionals(專業(yè)人員)to test new playgrounds at schools nationwide.
