The idea of creating the camp came from Dinah Martinez, 17, and her schoolmate Janet Martinez, 18. B【4】 girls suffered from anxiety.

Dinah Martinez always did well in school. “But then I just started to collapse(崩潰),” Dinah Martinez said. She stopped talking to her friends, stopped going to school for three weeks and stayed at home.

Janet Martinez was anxious in elementary school. Things got even w【5】 in junior high. “It was a lot of pressure(壓力) I put on myself. I would wake up in the morning and it was like my heart was racing.”she said.

At first, the guqin had only five strings, representing the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire and earth. Later, in the Zhou dynasty, King Wen of Zhou added a sixth string for his son. King Wu of Zhou, added a seventh string to encourage his army to fight with the Shang.

Ambience(環(huán)境氣氛) was important in playing the Chinese zither. Usually, it was practiced in quiet setting and never for public performance.

Now, there are fewer than one thousand well － trained guqin players and perhaps no more than fifty living masters. The original number of several thousand pieces has greatly reduced to only a hundred works by today. The guqin and its music was added to the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity(人類非物質(zhì)文化遺產(chǎn)) in 2003.

If you eat at your computer, sneeze on your keyboard, or sit down to surf the Internet without first washing your hands, your computer keyboard could be bad for your health. According to the US National Research Centre, the average computer carries 400 times more bacteria than a toilet bowl(抽水馬桶) does.

They may pollute your toothbrush. You can find ways to solve this problem. Try to keep your toothbrush far from the toilet. Make sure that it is in an upright position after each use. It’s also important to change your toothbrush every three months.

At home

The kitchen is one of the places with the most bacteria — more than the bathroom. Dishcloths and kitchen sponges(海綿) are great places for bacteria since they are always wet after being used. Try to make them dry.

At school

When you put your schoolbags on the floor or in the bus, many bacteria can live on the bottom(底部) of it. Try to clean your schoolbag often.

In public places

Escalator handrails(電梯扶手), shopping cart handles(推車手柄), public books and magazines are top bacteria carriers. That’s why the first thing to do when getting home is to wash your hands.

Yes, bacteria are everywhere. But don’t be too afraid to touch those things. Most of bacteriaare harmless. Just remember to wash your hands regularly. It is the most useful way to protect yourself from bacteria and viruses.

If you live somewhere where it snows, shovel your neighbour’ssnow out of their driveway for them! Just a simple thank-you can make someone’s day, especially if they feel like their work is never noticed. Cultivate(培養(yǎng)) a smile on their face by being sincere and thankful for all that they do.

Use your talents to help the community

The best way to show your thanks for people is by using the talents and skills you have to bless others. For me, I love to coordinate(協(xié)調(diào)) events and write, and so my way of reaching out to the community is through writing articles and creating awareness(意識) about problems we face today. If you can bake, make some delicious cookies for people to enjoy! If you can knit, put your talents to use by making clothes for children in foster care(寄養(yǎng)中心). Any talent can be used to help the community in meaningful ways.
