14.Instagram is a fast, beautiful and fun way to share your life with friends and family.Take a picture or video, choose a filter to transform its look and feel.a(chǎn)nd then post to Instagram-it's that easy. You can even share to Facebook.Twitter and more. It's a new way to see the world. So many photos of food are contained on Instagram-now a pop-up diner in London is taking advantage of this new trend by letting people settle the bill for their meals simply by uploading photos of their dishes to social networks.
I always thought people's taking pictures of their f ood was kind of silly, but at this new pop-up restaurant in the UK,I'd probably do it too."The Picture House"is the world's first pay-by-photo restaurant-you order, click a photo of the food, share on Instagram and eat for free!
The restaurant belongs to frozen food giant(巨人)Birds Eye,who came up with the idea to cash in on people's addiction with photographing food and sharing the pictures online. They conducted a survey and found out that more than half of the British population regularly took pictures of their meals. So they realized it w9as a better way to advertise their new dining range.
The pop-up diner was open in Soho,London for three days in May,and is now moving to other major UK cities. They serve two-course meals that customers don't have to pay for,if they photo and lnstagram it.
The restaurant is a part of Birds Eye's"Food for Life"campaign,a new marketing project that aims at changing the way people look at frozen food."Taking photos of food enables people to show off and to share their mealtime moments-from the everyday to the special,"said marketing director Margaret Jobling.
The reaction to The Picture House has been great so far And the pay-by-picture concept has proven to be an effective way.Alternative payment methods are actually gaining popularity among a lot of businesses.Last year in a cafe in Germany customers pay by how much time they spend there, not by what they eat.

6.Twelve years ago,I arrived in Central Florida from Puerto Rico.I had heard of a job opportunity and decided to pursue it.But it never became a reality.I quickly learned that being alone without resources in an unfamiliar city was not a comfortable situation to be in.
Once my limited funds ran out I became homeless and spent a year and a half living on the streets of Orlando.Apart from feeling not being noticed and missing my family,I had to face another challenge-hunger.
For the first time in my life,I,as a foreign man,who had lived my life in the relative comfort of the middle class,understood the desperation someone feels when they don't get enough to eat.I clearly remembered having run a distance of more than 7miles on many occasions just to make it to a local feeding program before they closed at 7pm.
Once the need for food was met,the next challenge would arise-where to find a place to sleep for the night.Fortunately,local programs like the Coalition for the Homeless,Second Harvest Food Bank and the Wayne Densch Center were an important part of my ability to survive my painful experience.
With the assistance of these programs,I was accepted by a college scholarship program through the Coalition and obtained two degrees from Valencia.
My experience has helped me understand that devoting my life to helping others offers lasting rewards.Today,I am employed as Childhood Hunger Programs Manager at Second Harvest Food Bank and oversees the summer feeding,Hi-Five Kids Pack,and Kids Café programs.I am also proud to be able to distribute(分配) food resources to those wonderful programs and help hundreds more like me.

4.July 28th,2003 London-It hasn't been like this since the death of Diana.Britain has been suffering from a national nervous breakdown ever since David Beckham, handsome idol of the Manchester United Soccer Team, announced that he was leaving to play for Real Madrid. The Sun set up a Beckham"grief(悲傷)help line"and had a lot of calls from his fans. One caller even said he was considering killing himself.A man who has"Beckham"tattooed on his arm said he wanted to cut it off."I cried myself to sleep after hearing the terrible news,"said grandmother Mary Richards, aged 85.A London taxi driver asked,"Has the world gone mad? He's only a footballer!"But he was mistaken.A footballer is the least of what David Beckham is.
