I have been a member of our local Community Youth Club for four years. So far I have took part in a lot of interested projects including activities such as holiday camps and discos. We have organized difference groups to help people in the need.We are particular proud of the most recent group we have created, that organizes regular visits to the local old people's homes. The old people there tell us their personal story. Some of them are in poor health but very unhappy,so my friends and I make up our mind to do more to help.Because our work is tiring,we think∧worthwhile.
4.去掉the.
6.that改為which. 根據(jù)句子里的逗號,可知這是一個(gè)非限制性定語從句,所以用which代指 the most recent group,做從句的主語.
8.but改為and. 根據(jù)in poor health 和 very unhappy的含義可知二者之間是并列關(guān)系,所以用and連接.
9.Because改為Though/Although. 根據(jù)our work is tiring,we think worthwhile.
10.think后加it. 用it代指our work,表示"工作是值得的".
Although he was tired,he went on working.
Although many difficulties are still ahead,we are determined to make greater achievements.
He often helps me with my English although he is quite busy.
3.a(chǎn)lthough引導(dǎo)的從句不能與but,however連用,但可與yet,still連用. Although he was old,but he worked hard.

Dear Tom,
I’m more than happier that you’re interested in Chinese culture. Now let me tell you something about a Dragon Boat Festival.
It’s a traditional Chinese festival falling in the 5th day of the 5th month of the Chinese lunar calendar. It’s widely believed that the festival held in memory the great poet Qu Yuan, who lived in ancient times. Disappointed with the government,he drowned him in the Miluo River.
The festival is celebrated by boat racing, with the boats building in the shape of dragons. Competing teams row their boats forward to the drumbeat, race to reach the finishing end first. We also have the custom of eating zongzi, wrapped with bamboo leaf. It’s very popularly among Chinese people.
If you will want to know about other Chinese traditional festivals, just write to me.
Yours,
Li Hua

I have a friend who lives by a three-word philosophy: Seize the moment. Just possibly, she may be the wisest woman on this planet. Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it. Don't have it on their schedule, and didn't know it was coming or they are too strict to depart from their routine.
I can't count the times I called my sister and said, “How about going to lunch in half an hour?” She would gasp and stammer(結(jié)結(jié)巴巴地說), “I can't. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known it yesterday, I had a late breakfast, and it looks like rain.” And my personal favorite response: “It's just Monday.” She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together. From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.
Life has a way of going faster as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises made to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we are awaken, and all have to show for our lives is repetition of “I'm going to”, “I plan on” and “Someday, when things are settled down a bit.”
When anyone calls my “seize the moment” friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for a while, and you're ready to change your attitude to life.
My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy. Now go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to, not something on your SHOULD DO list.
1.The example of the writer's sister serves as ________.
A. an argument B. an introduction
C. a support D. a conclusion
2.The writer thinks that the underlined excuse “It's just Monday.” is acceptable, because ________.
A. it is still likely that they can have lunch together some time later
B. it sounds most reasonable of all the excuses
C. it shows respect for the writer's suggestion
D. it indicates the time when they can have lunch together
3.The underlined word “contagious” in the fourth paragraph means “________”.
A. accurate B. influential
C. hopeful D. necessary
4.What is the purpose of the writer by writing this passage?
A. To suggest how time flies.
B. To persuade busy people to relax.
C. To advise people to keep their promise.
D. To convince readers to be flexible on their schedule for practical joy.
