2.What are you like in the morning?Do you find it easy to get up?Or it is really hard for you?A group of people from Denmark have formed the B-Society.According to them, human beings are divided into two types:A-people and B-people.A-people have no problem getting up in the morning, and operate much better earlier in the day.However,B-people are better later in the day."I'm useless early in the morning,"says one of the members of the B-Society."All I can do is drink coffee, and stare into space.People used to get up early because they had to feed the animals. But I haven't got any cows or chickens,so I can sleep late."she adds.Since the society was set up,the B-Society has welcomed several thousand members.
Right now,the B-Society is fighting hard for business to join its B-certification(認證)list.Companies that are"B-certified"basically give their employees the opportunity to come in when they want.In some companies, employees arrive at any time up to 3:30 p.m.------each to their own rhythm."This is a small hi-tech company."said one director from a B-certified company."And I need brains which are working at full speed."
And it is not just business that is benefiting from this.Teenagers who can't get out of bed in the morning, and parents who never quite get the kids to school on time, can now benefit from B-classcs.From next year,a school in Copenhagen will offer classes which start later in the day (at ten instead of eight). And even the government seems to like the idea.
The B-Socicty was founded by Camilla Kring,a professor from the University of Copenhagen. On her website, she says,uWhen B-peopIe's work rhythms are considered at the work place, their productivity and quality of life is increased, which can increase productivity for the entire organization."
She adds that,"B-Society will create a new daily rhythm in schools and other institutions as an alternative to the current rhythm of'early at work and early at home'.We are working for the establishment of kindergartens, primary and secondary schools as well as universities that open between 10 a.m.a(chǎn)nd 8 p.m..''.

2.There is a problem discussed by people about whether parents should hit their children?Or should they ever beat them?
Research suggests many of us are likely to respond"no",and public support for spanking (打屁股) has been falling over the years.But surveys also show that 75percent to nearly 90percent of parents admit spanking their child at least once.
I was raised in a zero-tolerance home for disrespect,and my parents often turned to physical punishment.And,no,I don't feel I was damaged by it.
Nothing is more annoying than watching ill-mannered behavior from children.
But there is data to suggest that a return to old-school spanking isn't the answer.
Two years ago,Newsweek reported that it had found data suggesting that teens whose parents used physical punishment were more likely to become aggressive.
Murray Straus,professor at the University of New Hampshire in America,has studied the topic of children and spanking for decades.He said that children who were physically punished have lower IQs than their peers.It may be that children with lower IQs were more likely to get spanked,but the punishment may have been counterproductive (反作用的) to their mental development,as well.
Some researchers make the argument that occasional open-handed smacks (用巴掌打) on the bottom are not only harmless but can have some benefit.
Last year,Marjorie Gunnoe,a psychologist at Calvin College,studied teens who have never been spanked.There are a greater number of children growing up without ever having been physically punished.Gunnoe's research suggests they don't turn out any better than those who were sometimes spanked.
There are some parents who simply cannot control their tempers.But I still believe that the best parents are the ones who are able to offer fair and firm discipline (紀律) without ever turning to physical punishment.

21.According to the passage,the author was most probably hit by her parents whenB.
A.they could not control teir temper
B.she showed no respect for the elder
C.they were dissatisfied with her grade
D.their discipline turned out to be not strict enough
22.According to Murray Straus,children who are physically punishedC.
A.benefit from occasional spanking
B.have slower physical development
C.may develop lower IQs than their peers
D.a(chǎn)re less aggressive towards others when they get older
23.The author seems to agree thatB.
A.physical punishment should be the last means of any parents
B.good parents discipline their children in a fair and reasonable way
C.parents should determine whether a child needs to be smacked or not
D.children who have been spanked tend to behave better than those who haven't.

Monkey suits are common names for clothes or uniforms soldiers wear.In earlier years in many American cities,you would find men playing musical band organs on the street.Dancing to the music would be the man's small monkey that was dressed in a tight-fitting,colorful jacket similar to a military uniform.So,people began to call a military uniform a monkey suit.
