It's show time! China’s TV channels have ever been full of various shows since the craze for Super Girl in 2004. Regarding voice as the only ruler, The Voice of China quickly became popular around Chinese mainland and topped a league of all shows broadcast by the country's local TV stations. Its popularity also drew record advertising, the final episode(集)attracting an ad spend of 500,000 yuan per second. Plus, the episodes of If You Are the One(非誠勿擾),both hot and controversial, became an instant hit, proving that dating shows can be entertaining and mainstream at the same time. Another TV show Where Are We Going, Dad? produced by Hunan Satellite Television, has been wowing(使……叫好)audiences across the nation, filling the Internet with heated discussions about the father's figure.

Nowadays numerous TV shows have become extremely popular among Chinese audiences. Those programs ,ranging from talent or dating shows to reality shows ,have received both commercial success and public concern.

Their massive popularity is mainly based on simple facts. First, they care about social concerns. Second, they promote pursuit of dreams at grassroots level. Third, without exception, they explore a perfect balance between international form and Chinese expression.

Despite apparent highlights, much room is left for improvement. Above all , commercial interest often overweighs educational purposes , causing much complaints about unbearable advertisements. In addition, some sharp remarks ,though eye-catching and overwhelming, may have misleading effect on the youth.

In my opinion, such shows should shoulder more responsibility instead of merely entertaining the public. As is expected, these programs should be both humanistic and positive in their form and function. Meanwhile, the media should also safeguard the core value of our society.

Michael J. “Crocodile Dundee” (also called Mick), played by Paul Hogan, is the main character in the fictional Crocodile Dundee film series consisting of Crocodile Dundee, Crocodile Dundee II, and Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. The character is a crocodile hunter, hence the nickname.

In the first film, Crocodile Dundee, Mick is visited by a New York reporter, Sue Charlton, who travels to Australia to investigate a report she heard of a crocodile hunter, who had his leg bitten off by a crocodile in the outback. The hunter supposedly walked more than a hundred miles back to civilization and miraculously survived his injuries. However, by the time she meets him, the story turns out to be a somewhat exaggerated legend where the “bitten-off leg” turns out to be just being some bad scarring on his leg; a “l(fā)ove bite” as Mick calls it. Still interested by the idea of “Crocodile Dundee”, Sue continues with the story. They travel together out to where the incident occurred, and follow his route through the bush to the nearest hospital. Despite his old-fashioned views, the pair eventually become close, especially after Mick saves Sue from a crocodile attack.

Feeling there is still more to the story, Sue invites Mick back to New York with her, as his first trip to a city (or “first trip anywhere,” as Dundee says). The rest of the film depicts Dundee as a “fish out of water,” showing how, despite his expert knowledge of living outdoors, he knows little of city life. Mick meets Sue’s boyfriend, Richard, but they do not get along. By the end of the film, Mick is on his way home, lovesick, when Sue realizes she loves Mick, too, and not Richard. She runs to the subway station to stop Mick from leaving and, by passing on messages through the packed-to-the-gills crowd, she tells him she won’t marry Richard, and she loves him instead. With the help of the other people in the subway, Mick and Sue have a loving reunion as the film ends.

科目:高中英語 來源:2015屆廣東韶關(guān)十校高三10月聯(lián)考英語試卷(解析版) 題型:閱讀理解

Butterflies are some of the most fascinating and beautiful insects in the world. Adult butterflies will live about 2 to 4 weeks. They use their senses of sight, touch, hearing, smell, and taste to survive in the world, find food and mates, lay eggs in an appropriate place, migrate, and avoid hungry enemies.

Butterflies have large compound eyes(復(fù)眼), which allow them to see in all directions without turning their heads. Like most insects, butterflies are very near?sighted, so they are more attracted to a sea of flowers than individual plants. Butterflies do not “see” colors such as red, green, and yellow, but they can sense sunlight, which indicates the direction the sun is shining, as well as ultraviolet light(紫外線), which is present on many flowers and guides butterflies to honey sources.

Butterflies have a very well-developed sense of smell, but it is not in their nose, since they don't have one. Sense receptors are located in their antennae(觸角), feet, and many other parts of the body. They can help butterflies find their favorite flower honey food, and mates.

Butterflies' feet have sense organs that can taste the sugar in flower honey, letting the butterflies know if something is good to eat or not. Some females also carefully choose host plants by tasting to find appropriate places to lay their eggs. Adult butterflies feed their babies using a long tube. Butterflies force blood into the tube to straighten it out, allowing them to feed. Butterflies get all their food from this tube.

Butterflies don't have ears. Instead they “hear” sounds through their wings by sensing changes in sound vibrations(振動).

Butterflies may possess senses we don't even know about yet, because their body structure is very different from ours, and therefore difficult to understand, when observed through our own human senses.

1.What can we learn from the 2nd paragraph?

A. Butterflies have good eyesight.

B. Butterflies can see in all directions and don't need to turn heads.

C. Butterflies are sensitive to bright colors including red and yellow.

D. Butterflies cannot sense the ultraviolet light.

2.How do butterflies hear sounds?

A. Using their feet to sense the vibration of things

B. Using their ears to listen directly

C. Using their wings to sense the sound vibrations

D. Using their antennae to judge the sound

3.Why do female adult butterflies carefully choose the host plants?

A. To find high?qualified honey.

B. To have a good place for living.

C. To make it easier for them to hide from the enemies.

D. To find a proper place for their eggs.

4.What does the last paragraph imply?

A. There’s a long way to understand butterflies well

B. Butterflies give great help to human beings

C. Butterflies are the most beautiful insects in the world

D. Butterflies possess more senses than humans

5.The text mainly focuses on ________.

A. butterflies' living habits B. butterflies' beauty

C. butterflies' daily activities D. butterflies' senses
