Dear Paul,
     I'm glad to hear that you will come to visit our school recently. As for the tips for living in China, I hope
the following may be of some help to you.
     While attending a banquet, you don't have to eat everything, for there will be too much food. But you can
try a little of every dish. Taking of shopping, open-air markets and privately-run stores allow customers to
bargain while large department stores have set prices. Besides, don't be afraid to ask, "can you offer me a
better price?" As to using chopsticks, don't point with them at other people and by all means don't stick them
upright in your boiled rice. Finally, though it's not a custom to give tips, tips are seldom refused. In fact most
Chinese know that giving tips is very common in other countries.
