1.加an

2.program改為programs

3.hearing改為hear

4.happened改為happen

5.teach改為teaches

6.but改為and

7.another改為other

8.late改為later

9.去掉being

10.influenced改為influencing

1. plays important part in our life, play an important part為固定搭配,意為“扮演一個重要角色”。因此用an。

2. shows us information program like the news and sports events,“它給我們展示了信息形式像時事新聞和體育事件”。

3. can watch films, listen to interviews and hearing the sounds of events,句意為“你可以看電影,聽訪談,聽到來自很遠的地方發(fā)生的事情”。

4. 。第三句We can watch films, listen to interviews and hearing the sounds of events that happened far away,句意為“你可以看電影,聽訪談,聽到來自很遠的地方發(fā)生的事情”句子的時態(tài)為一般現(xiàn)在時,故用動詞原形,happen。

5. teach us about countries and cultures,意思是“電視告訴我們有關(guān)國家和文化的事”,主語television為單數(shù)名詞,因此動詞應(yīng)該用第三人稱的單數(shù)形式teaches。

6. teach us about countries and cultures but we can enjoy entertainment根據(jù)上下文,句意為“電視告訴我們有關(guān)國家和文化的事,這樣我們就可以享受一種氛圍”應(yīng)該是一種承接關(guān)系而不是轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系,故用and。

7. television set can be used for another things as well.

8. can record shows and films for late viewing, watch DVDs ,意思是“你可以錄制脫口秀節(jié)目和電影以便以后觀看”如果用late則不合句意,應(yīng)用later,同時later是副詞,也修飾viewing。

9. ? Television was being developed over 80 years ago中was being developed為過去進行時的被動結(jié)構(gòu),應(yīng)去掉 being。

Television was being developed over 80 years ago, influenced our lives ever since.

If your family is thinking of getting a pet, consider adopting from an animal shelter. Animal shelters are full of dogs, cats, rabbits, and more animals, all in need of loving homes. Some may come with emotional or behavioral issues, but most are happy, healthy, and ready for a loving home. Here are some tips for you to find great animals.

Make some decision.

Think about what you want in a pet and remember that all pets have different personalities. Cats tend to be more independent and need less affection, but kittens need lots of attention. Cats don’t need to be walked, but you need to clip their nails and play with them. Dogs need to be walked at the very least twice a day. However, they are usually great companions and love to spend time with their family.

Visit the shelter.

Set aside at least a few hours to visit shelters in your area—remember that you may need to visit more than one visit. Try to bring along everyone who will be living with a new pet. Ask the shelter staff lots of questions. And never adopt an animal because you feel sorry for it—be patient so you find a pet who is truly a good match for your family.

Get everything ready.

Buy all necessary supplies and food well before the animal comes home. Make sure that the entire household is in agreement about rules and responsibilities—will the dog be allowed on the couch? Who will clean the litter box? Put it in writing before the pet arrives.

Bring your new friend home!

You’ll probably be excited when your new pet arrives, but be sure to give them space and time to get adjusted to a new home and a new family. The pet may act differently once they leave the shelter. Interact(交流)with your pet a lot and get them used to a routine, and soon you’ll be one big happy family !

Preparations are underway around the world for Chinese New Year (Feb 19) and celebrations in China will be mirrored across the planet wherever the Chinese Diaspora (華僑) calls home. Here are some Chinatowns for those outside of China wishing to mark the day.

London

Although it may not be as large or as long-built as others, having only become a center for the Chinese community during the 1950s, London's Chinatown is a perfectly formed little firework that knows how to see in the year with a bang. Decorated with red lanterns (燈籠), previous years have seen shows with acrobatics (雜技), martial arts (武術(shù)), dance and opera nearby.

San Francisco

San Francisco's Chinatown is perhaps the most famous in the United States. The city was the main entry-point for Chinese who had crossed the Pacific to the USA during the early 19th century. Between the Grant Avenue and the Stockton Street, this historic area is a local treasure, attracting more visitors per year than the Golden Gate Bridge.

Bangkok

With a more than 100-year-old history, the Thai capital's Chinatown contains complex streets offering all kinds of tasty treats, clothes, toys and antiques. Sunday market days are such a good time to get the full atmosphere of the neighborhood. The area is also known for its gold dealers, whose shops line the road.

Mauritius

Found in Port Louis, this Mauritian Chinatown shows the island nation's rich multicultural diversity. Established in the early years of the 20th century by settlers from China, its tiny shops and restaurants serve locals and visitors. During the Chinese Spring Festival, the most exciting sight is the Dragon Dances on Rue Royale when Chinese musicians and dancers perform the traditional Lion dances through the streets.

1.According to the text, which of the following has the longest history?

A. London's Chinatown.

B. Bangkok's Chinatown.
